Tao Nan has given out the mock SA2 papers - Eng, Math and Sci for the kids to do this Sep holiday. Good to expose them early on what is expected for the actual paper. Nothing at all fr DD's school. Wonder other than Tao Nan, have other schs given out the mock papers ?

Nothing fr my son. However, he said tomorrow got online lesson fr school.

Must we complete the online assignment by tomorrow ?

No Lah. Refer to the comprehension part. If this SA2 overall agg score is bad, will prepare DD to downgrade to normal CL in P5.

We intend to downgrade DS to normal Chinese next year,he is struggling with HC, barely pass only

DS is also struggling with HCL. Recent paper scored 30/60.. I'm really worried and I'm not sure how else to help him improve his HCL.

Looks like he will most probably be asked to drop to normal Chinese..

BY the way, does anyone know if drop to normal CL, will there be any impact in P6's DSA and PSLE?

For PSLE, only CL is included in the computation of the T-Score, as for HCL, it will only be reflected as either Pass, Merit or Distinction. As for DSA, not too sure of it's impact, hope it will not affect.

Was informed by nephew ( in RI Sec 2 now ) that HCL comes handy for those who opt for Chinese SAP Sec Schs like HCI, Nanyang Girls etc. Not for RI and RGS.

Suggest u have a good talk w yr DS's tr to assess his strengths and weaknesses in coping Chinese. I spoke to DD's tr before and when I told her that we came fr Eng speaking family ( eats potato ), she was surprised that DD can cope. Just that one of her weaknesses is translating Eng sentence literally to Chinese which may end up with different meanings.

Yes, confirm correct, e.g. T-Score 260, if HCL distinction, it will be 260+3 for HCI, but for schools such as RI, RGS, NUSHS, its 260 only. HCL does not affect the T-Score.

How about DSA? I mean when later apply DSA in P6, will there be a disadvantage if the boy/girl is taking CL but want to apply SAP Sec schs?
