I also brought my child to 727 Havelock Road clinic. It seemed to be quite useful. Any adults else also try the treatment of nose spa there? How do U find the treatment and is it worthwhile to take up the package?

I am also keen to bring my 19mth old girl to herbal-basic for her frequent cough. Her PD always put her on nebuliser every month when she gets cough. I find it very weakening to her body as the medicine used in nebuliser contains steriods.
Can I chk for herbal-basic, does the yi-shi do the baby massage herself or she only diagnose then got another helper to do the massage?
Is the massage done one at a time or if there a few beds there where a few children can get massage at the same time?

We have been to Yu Guo chinese physician at Kemangan. They are very popular for children and babies. But I don't really feel comfortable there cos they have about 6 massuer doing the baby massage at the same time in the same room. it's really scary with all sick kids in the same room, all the germs & virus spreading.

Same sentiments - a lot of sick children in the air-con basement so didn't really like to bring my gal over.. If only they are not so far away as I stay in the NE area..

Basically it depends on individual’s condition and medication needed… So no fixed price de…

Massage is done by 2 aunties (01 of them is a Chinese Physician though)
Basically it is also done in a room with few children (depends on crowd size though)
However it’s not as crowded as in YG and looks more cleaner (saw the staff wiping the walls every now and then to keep it white and clean looking)

                Hi,

Just want to share what I like about Herbal Basic compare to other TCM clinics, beside being clean and children friendly, they also seem to be quite cautious about spreading of diseases among children. Normally their pediatric massage is done in a common room with 3 beds, but when a child is diagnosed to be ill they will quarantine the child.

My child had high fever last month and we went there for xiao er tuina and medication, after the doctor diagnosed my child, she immediately put my child in an isolated room, and both the tuina and nose spa were performed in the private room separated from the rest of the children.

I was very impressed with what they did, as the other clinics which I went to in the past didn’t practice that!

at Herbal-Basic, the physician usually gets one of the aunties to do the massage. There are two aunties on weekend (I dunno about weekday though) and one of which I found out was the classmate of the physician while they were studying TCM together. The other auntie, I dunno her background, but noticed that she is very knowledgeable in the acupuncture points to massage and very helpful in advising and sharing knowledge. My mother-in-law and I learnt quite a lot from this auntie cuz we like to chat when she's massaging my kid.

The physician, whenever she is free or when they are too many kids waiting for massage, she will also help to massage the kids also.

As for cough, I am very happy with the recent treatments they have started using. It's using the bio-light. It's non-invasive and it's not oral medication. The physician simply massage some herbal cream on the kid's chest and then use the light to shine on the kid's chest. As simple as that.

My girl had a bad cough early part of this year. it was very heavy cough with lotsa phlegm and high fever. The bio-light treatment gave immediate result. My girl, after first treatment, the cough reduced tremendously. And then she went on for another two treatments on the following two days. After the third treatment, she was 90%, if not 100%, recovered already.

you can make your own nose spa at home without braving the crowded TCM clinics or western clinics

                    http://nanaymiriam.wordpress.com/2012/07/24/air-purifier-for-less-than-20-sgd/

just buy the normal air purifier.. boil a bunch of lemon grass, let it cool until tepid.. then put in your air purifier .. or you can just add lemon grass essential oil or peppermint essential oil..

learn some accupressure massage yourself.. so you can do it yourself before your child head for bed..

altho you have to expect that when your child is sick they might call you in the office.. and ask you to be home \"to help\"... my daughter thinks am a mommy doctor .. I think its kinda cool in a way that she sees me as someone who she can trust and let her ills go away.. with just a massage, nose spa... onions and garlic on her socks...
