Regardless of religion, it is the principle behind that is wrong. What morale high ground he or she has when the kid has integrity issue? What type of moral value does these parents want to impart to their next generation?

Baptise just to get themselves into the desired school? Really very sad.

Daddy is already baptised since he was a kid, however our DS is not. (I dont even get myself baptised to marry hubby … so we are not that desperate ok … lol)

I called the school twice and both time they told me if child is not baptised, either one of the parent baptism cert is ok. However, one of my collegue and info from forum seems to indicate parent and child have to be batipsed as well. So I am wondering if I should doubt the information i got from school…

Anyone actually applied at Phase 2B with only one parent as a Catholic at Maris Stella ?

                    In MOE website, it says:

                    (b) For a child whose parent is a member endorsed by the church/clan directly connected with the primary school

                    You should eligible for P2B.

                      celestial75 is correct.

aloyboy, maybe you should suggest your colleague to come to kiasuparents instead  πŸ˜‰

I did not really doubt my colleague as her son is in Maris Stella and they produced the baptism cert for her whole family (which is the norm of a catholic family, marriage where both parents are catholic and child is baptised at birth). She told me child MUST be baptised. I guess school will ask for it, and people take it for granted is required.

Probably is "rare" case where only one parent is baptised.

I feel more assure now, as I am still reading through the 100 over pages, somewhere at 50+ page, a mother is in similar situation as me, and she confirmed that SJI is ok to accept child not baptised as well with only parent baptism cert.

Hope I am not opening up a floodgate for people like me to compete for seats ! oops !
