I would like to know the market rate for higher Chinese tuition for sec 2 student. Recently a tutor quote me $50 / hr (min 2 hrs per session) and I think it’s very reasonable but my friends all think its expensive.

                sec 2 is around $25/hr ~ $30/hr… (common rate)

but then… if the person paying feels it’s ok… then it’s reasonable lor… if they feel $200/hr is comfortable for them, who is to judge that it is unreasonable… willing buyer willing seller.

As shown on their websites, the two famous Sunday Times newspapers tutors,

Physics tutor, Mr Phang, http://www.physics.com.sg , charges $90 per hour for his group JC 2 Physics tuition.

Economics tutor, Mr Anthony Fok, http://www.jceconomics.com, charges $50 per hour for his group JC 2 Economics tuition.

Group tuition can go so sky high?!?!?! Government should step in to control and regulate tuition prices... just like doctors in clinics...

If there are carrots… you can’t stop anyone from becoming a farmer…

If parents don’t feed the ridiculous pricing, providers would not be asking for ridiculous pricing…

I think it is expensive. I would think that $35-$40 is the norm.
