btw, did u confront that tutor?? how old is he to be teaching jc?? how was the lie exposed??
-
I am not sure about JC teacher. But poly and ITE teachers confirm not NIE trained. A few of my friends become poly and ITE teachers. They required only industrial experience. Which is more relevant.

jc / poly / ite all classified as tertiary education.. they should be the same.. -

As far as I know, Pri/Sec/JC teachers must have professional teacher training qualifications, be it degree/post graduate diploma at NIE or at recognised overseas universities. Usually (not all) Honours grads would be posted to JC after graduating from NIE.JJ1111:

JC is not considered as tertiary education.

on this topic, do u find out the credentials of your child’s tutor be it tuition centre or private tuition? how do u go about asking?
-
Private tuitor who go to your home to teach very easy to check. Just ask the teacher for the original cert. Ask them to show you the original NIE diploma and their degree transcript before you engage them. If tuition centre usually should be ok as their tuition teachers must be approved by MOE. So better don’t use home private tuitor. Quite risky.

oh have check on the moe webby… i rmb wrongly…
so pri, sec and jc teachers must be trained in nie… so that means the teacher should hv nie certificate…
lying thru their teeth for such qualifications is very unethical… they are teachers, they should not lie about such things!!
