hi..., i am searching available school for my son (P3 class 2009). All school around our place is full. It is possible to me to search for far school?( ex. i stay in north and looking school in south or i stay in west and looking school in east). We are dependant pass holder. Please advice...

Entry/transfer to Primary schools after P1 depends more on the child's ability to convince the school to give him/her entry than distance from the school. You will need to somehow demonstrate that your child is and will be a good student.

You can opt to be on the waiting list for some schools. However, if I remember correctly, the same criteria (as in primary 1 registration) still applies. So those with siblings in the same school will get a high priority over the rest. And distance from school still applies for those in waiting list.

What about those whom had already been confirmed a place in P1 (next year) and would like to transfer before orientation or year 2009 begins?

I just moved into HillView at West Area.

I am thinking of transfering my son currently in primary 1 to either bukit timah pri school or keming pri school for year 2009.

Any recommendation abt what is good abt each school ? Need to find out more before i transfer my son.

              thanks.

You can still apply with one of the schools that still have places after Phase 3 if you change your mind about what you already have.

Hi, which part of Hillview? Its a pretty long stretch.
At one end, there is the popular Bukit Panjang Primary.
At the other end, the other nearest and popular one is Keming Primary.
Considering the above 2 schools have full admission rate during P1 registration, getting a vacancy at P2 may post a problem.

In terms of popularity among P1 registrants, Keming is in more demand than Bukit Timah Pri.

Which school is your kid currently in?
