          Dear Parents,

Congratulation on your child's attainment of the 2012 PSLE results. The S1 posting is a hot topic during this season and a heart wrenching week too for parents to make a sound decision in collaboration with their child on the embarkation of the next milestone of the learning journey..... which school is good, which school is enriching, which school performs, which school strives for excellence ....
In brief, all school do strives for excellence in each of their unique way and culture ...
Utmost importance, your child enjoy learning, enjoy school, enjoy interaction with his/her peers ...
          As parents, the S1 posting is rather a exhilarating and heart pounding season for us, the decisions we do derive take into consideration;
          1) our child's learning aptitude
          2) our child's learning potential for the years to come
          3) travelling distance (spending hours travelling to n fro school is not productive, stress sets in easily with less resting hours)
          4) competitive edge of the school or institution of choice
          5) our current standpoint in the S1 selection (appeal for seat allocation can be quite stressful for the child)

In brief, all the Best For The S1 Posting ... I have underwent two exercise with my kids and they are doing relatively well in their respective niche ... one 'O' Level track ... one IP track ... utmost importance, make learning enjoyable, little or no stress, 3 Cheers to all Parents 🙂

After collecting results...triumph or for worse, we have to be practical choosing Secondary schools.

*travelling distance is top priority for us - with longer hours in school, i want him to reach home FAST...direct bus home preferably.

*he gets into the sec school and be in the 2nd or 3rd express class to rebuild confidence.

The sec school open house we visited yesterday has teachers who were forthcoming to explain what is taught in their school...each booth was manned by teacher from the dept.
So moving on, I really hope my son will get to enjoy his school :xedfingers: and TEACHERS WHO TEACH. I am not asking for too much right ?
Ultimately, this is the REASON why our kids go to school.

I really wish this is the case. My boy who just finished Sec 1 this year - we had to get him a Math tutor halfway thru the year. And he improved significantly. And when I asked him why, he said he understands his tutor, but he doesn't understand his school teacher even when he approaches the teacher for clarification. And... his school teacher is always \"so busy\". Make appointment and 90% of the time don't turn up or is rushing to go off.

I think will need to get him a Science tutor soon too for Sec 2, so he can understand his school syllabus instead of bungling thru with school teachers.

*sigh*. when I was in sec sch, it was the school tr who helped me improve significantly. Not a tutor that we have to pay extra money to.

NJC cop was 258 last year, so are you expecting it to drop or are you intending to appeal?

My dd got 253. Any views as to whether putting Cedar O level as 6th choice is too risky? My choices 1 to 5 carry some risks

Cedar O level cop for the past years were:
                        2009… 244
                        2010… 246
                        2011… 248
                        2012… 249

Has any school’s (O level) cop ever jumped more than 3 points? Thanks
