anyone can update the last year (2012 intake) COP of NUS High School
-
Yes, Janet, I was fooled into thinking that psle is easier than prelims, I was very wrong… Dd even did Top sch paper math TWICE, trying to familiarize with the questions and hopefully benchmark herself with the top peers, she could score 75above, but not psle math. Now that I have another dd taking psle two years later, I really don’t know what to expect. Years ago, when hb thought a girl just using the math456.com math assessment bk, she could score an A*. Now his one daughter can’t even score an A. Sigh…
I should think the psle markers are more lenient, have a few close friends who are teachers. And also they have kids taking psle, so they should have the "do unto others what you have them do to your kids" marking mentality. Hahaha… -

I think Math pulled my son's Science down...it's so sad bcos Science is his best subject and yet it was pulled down. It's very very hard to accept.I'm analyzing this whole thing because I have another child doing this 2 years later. And to see how best to help her and the strategies involved.
Dd woke up and asked me \"mum, is it because I didn't work hard enough, that's why I didn't do well\" haiz.. I told her she has done her best, that's enough.
Our kids have done their best but why are their results so unexpected? What went wrong? How could this happen? :stupid: :stupid: :stupid: -

Rains, do you happen to have percentage of quality passes (A/A*) for NYPS 2012? Do you know 2011 average?
I'm quite keen to know where the source of the hearsay comes from. The school didn't reveal the number of students scoring 240 and above. Unless it's a teacher from Nyps who says it, I'm not going to believe it. The school's average t-score is 239. If 87% scored 240 and above, the average should be higher than 239, I thought.bupashu:
hearsay that this year got 40% scoring between 240 to 249
so got 87.7% scoring from 240 or higher ! now which school comes close this this ? -

Although IP Tracks are set for so-called higher ability students, they also admit students via DSA. Some of these students' T-Score is less than 250. I know of a kid who got in SJI IP via DSA but scored only 239.across all schools in SG -
from P6 entering into Secondary 1:-
IP programme never affliated.
only those with high score(s) get in.
but O level track can be affliated, in some schools.
from end of Sec 2 Express stream trying to seek transfer into Sec 3 IP -
can try.
But note that local Singaporeans will be competing with overseas Asean scholars, for limited Sec 3 IP places. -

also got GEPper scored <255, but received two DSA offer earlier before sit for PSLE, from both (RI + HCI).
but once they accept DSA offer, so long as can meet minimum score 200, can remain.
but for those without DSA offer (solely depend on PSLE for entry), need high score for IP track. (never affliated) A level, university bound. -
amongst 4 subjects -
which is the one that score the lowest Quality passes (A / A*) for National standard, coming from all primary schools in SG ?
