Thanks lebookworm. It really gives me an idea what is it about . In fact the AEP offers to JH1 next year (2013). :thankyou:
Firstly, you are aware that AEP is offered only from Sec 3 to JC2, right?panickymum:
Anyone can share whAt is being tested during the AEP? What drawing material needed ?
Thankyou
Secondly, the test differs every year but for me, it was an observational skills test(observe and draw your shoe) as well as a creativity test(draw your dream room).
As for the drawing material for the AEP classes, I'm not so sure myself as I have just been accepted this year and will start my AEP journey next year.
Hope this helps! -

From my understanding those who get selected will be informed by end of orientation week. And they get exempted from the general art programme. -

I saw from the dean briefing slides that MEP is on Tue and Thu, while cafe is either Monday or Friday.
Well, then just have to arrange with the teachers some how. MEP can clash with CAFE CCA. And there are strange MEP timings like 4pm lesson or 7pm lesson, so will have to see what are the timings of MEP and the timings for the CCA.lilac_tulip:
Corrections :
Currently, JH's western dance is on Mon & Sat whereas MEP is on Tue & Thu. When there are more dance practises (e.g. before SYF or Aristal), it may clash.
Also I asked the dean and no there are no music lessons that start at 7pm.
Anyway the slides of dean briefing are on Njc website for download.

Don't think my child had much clashes with CCA . But CCA ends like 7+pm on one of the days - oh well, most schools are the same way. Will be in year 4 MEP soon. -
Today need to register the third language in MOE Bishan Language center.
But we also want to join the MEP program.
NJC suggest either MEP or third langauge. Better donot take 2 together.
But we donot know whether can be selected by MEP. -

Yes, 3rd Language and MEP days clash, so cannot take together. There is high attrition rate for 3rd Lang, I heard? But then again, some do drop out of MEP after the 2nd year. Students need to sign a 2 year commitment when they join MEP, and another 2yr commitment in Year 3... maybe another in Year 5 if they continue to take MEP lah.Today need to register the third language in MOE Bishan Language center.

So this year's MEP selection test is 3rd Jan? Last time was only at the start of the school year, and yes, like the other person said, most get through. My child's year, only 1 didn't get through, I think - bc that student wasn't familiar with western theory notation. -
