Oh, I didn't know that. Although dd is in 109, some of her ex gep classmate from P6 are in 102, 106 etc.
The GEP classes are 109 to 113. The COP for mainstreamers to get into GEP classes is 273 this year. This information is from a teacher to the students in a GEP class.alng:

Hi
I m new here. My dd is in yr 1 now. According to her, there is no such thing as gep class. All her ex gep classmate were scattered across the level.
:?[/quote]I know some GEP centres like Nanhua have mainstreamers in GEP classes. nanhua calls them TAG classes. So are these ex classmates really from GEP? -

Better ask again yr dd again, very interesting case here.
Anyway the whole cohort should be sbge so shouldn't matters much? -

I beg to differ. I think there is a need for homogeneity for a couple of years.
wow, really?
This means they heard us when we had breakfast talk with the ex-P last year. There was a concerned father asked why his GEP girl from RGPS has to be grouped in the same class? There is a tendency that there girls do not mix with other students except their own classmates since P4.
The ex P explained that MOE has set condition that GEP students have to be grouped from P4 to Sec 2 together.
Which brainless MOE scholar who implement this idea? Never think that EQ is more valuable in future.
I was packing dd's primary school work for cold storage some weeks ago. I saw the notes and projects works that they did. I saw the kind of rigor they get in the curriculum and it is obvious that do not happen in
mainstream curriculum. I think it is fair to give 2 years for the ex-mainstreamers to experience things like IRS,ISO and blend in only in year3. See it as a cup half full. It is meant to benefit, not discriminate.
As for the GEP, they need some continuity too after heir P6GEP? I think the 1st 2 years is a period for gelling the 2 groups.
BTW, someone mentioned the GEP students are spread to all classes. FYI, my dd school GEP girls all in those 5 classes, some have 260+. So you see, it is not about academic excellence that the girls are sorted. All the RGS girls are excellent and deserving the best classes. The sorting is based on their past academic immersion and experience. So let's see beyond the class numbers and class type these 2 years. All our girls are GREAT! -

All geppers from dd's school (via DSA/PSLE) r in 109-113. :?
For books, the respective subject teachers will tell the girls what to bring to school. -
