Is it possible for a student to get offered HMT, no EESIS (missed by 1 point) and no third lang?

      Anyone knows?

      Yes.

but no 3rd lang seems quite unusual leh...thought they will offer 3rd lang all the way to about 240?
Kid was probably offered but didn't take up third lang?

Or kid did not get the third language of his choice due to demand exceeding supply.

Kid did not get offered third language.

Could someone explain how this situation would be possible?

Its not possible. The offer would be on the result slip.

What is possible is the kid did not take it up, or selected course ran out of places.

Hmm, the course running out of places sounds possible. How do they decide who gets to take the third language?

Top 10% - Japanese, German, French

(Jap need higher chinese pass, i think)

                Top 30% - Regional Languages

Yes, and also based on demand and supply for Japanese, German and French.

Not sure what the deciding factor is for allocating 3rd lang in high demand. Just know that some students who opted for popular 3rd lang didn’t get their choice. Maybe language abilities play a bigger deciding factor than overall T-score.

I think the Regional Languages (Malay (Special Programme), Chinese (Special Programme), Bahasa Indonesia and Arabic) are offered to all S1 students in the Express and NA stream.
