RE: Poi Ching
It could also be the school is strategising towards the "real grouping" during the next streaming at P4. It will be closer to P6 by then.
From P5 to P6, the C to E could be the top 3 classes.
Anyway, I feel the pre P1 orientation to group kids according to the readibility in both languages is too early to make any judgement of the kids’ academic abilities. -

Hi All,
I am one of the concerned parent too. I agree with blue belt. They indeed spreaded out the smarts kids. My DS from 2E is going to 3C. From his class the top guy is going to 3F according to my DS. They are all spreaded out. So the HA classes looks like are from C to G.
They literally blended out all the smart kids. Not sure will this system works. Let’s see the PSLE results in 4 yrs’ time.
I am in deep trouble… as I promised my boy alot of presents if he ever able to get into 3C class. On Friday, I called home in the evening, he told me there is a good news for me. He said I have to get him the presents as I have promised.
In fact, he didnt do well for the last few tests. Results dropped. And worst school changed the system. And now he thinks he is in the top class : - ((
Barely 5 to 6 kids from 2E is going to 3C. -
RE: Crying 5year old son
Hi.
I have similar problems. Both me and my hubb has rhinitus and nasal allergy. Me added with sensitive skin which the knuckles on my fingers can get so itchy that my scratching will result into blisters on the skin and the skin will thicken. Seen skin dr, only steroid cream and anti itch med.
Yes moisturising is very important for all these area. I use shea butter very rich ones, pure 100% and apply to these area. I can see the area get less red and itch also subsided. I seldom use the steriod cream as I know it will has adverse effect.
For bath, I use very mild and yet antiseptic wash. Originally I buy from skin clinic. it was so expensive. I realised it was a german product. I can bulk buy in at a lower price. If any mummies are keen to try this. pls PM me.
My kids inherited our trade mark. No2 boy, very easily suseptible to marks on legs. If mosquito bites him, the marks can swell and took a long time to subside. I use the same stellisept to wash him. Use a soft bath sponge and about a 50cents amount of stellisept to wash all his body. It is effective.
As for their nasal allergy, we have to use an anti histamine to control. If not, they get congested nose, coughing non stop at night, as for me, the post nasal drip while I sleep will get me sore throat next day.
This was our finding all these years. Thanks goodness my chronic sore throat is due to nasal allergy … and nothing else. These days, if there is any chronic pain that does not go away have to seek dr checking… -
RE: Comparing English Enrichment Programmes
For me, ,my 2 boys are from British Council. K2 for my elder boy was good. I can tell the teacher really put in effort. But for my younger boy last yr in K1, I find the teacher not as good.
After much consideration and the fees we forked out, I decided to withdraw them.
When I found out about CH, one of the teachers there was formally teaching GP in my JC. Spoken to her and another teacher, in fact this school is opened by ex school teachers.
And i surveyed on a few forums, indeed feedback was positive. So I decided to sign up.
After first lesson, my boys did enjoy their classes. I hope it will boost their English Language, especially the application portion of it. -
