You might have gotten a greater influx if you had used Whatsapp instead of Telegram... 😂
Haha chief, whatsapp is limited to only 250 members in a group. We have 17,000 members in our telegram group. 😂

Even our Pediatricians sub group has over 500 parents inside, already larger than what whatsapp group size can permit.

And yes, like what some of the other members here pointed out earlier, the young mostly uses telegram instead of whatsapp. My mentees all prefer to use telegram rather than whatsapp.

6 of my doc frds are volunteering to respond to enquiries
Hi all, I'm the owner of SG Quarantine Order Support Group, realised that our group link was being shared here as we saw an influx of members/parents in the last 12 hours. 😂

To further add on to Estéema's post, we actually have more than 10 pediatricians in our group manning our paeds sub group, and another sub group manned by two OBGYN doctors for pregnant mummies.

There are many parents joining our group in the last one month as well due to Omicron hitting many kids.

If the site admin/owner finds our group useful for the parents here, let me know whether we can work something out to help the parents here. 😄

      insider,

      Shld we believe in 求签?

Sometx,it turns up to be very accurate. Many yrs ago,my mum 求签 for my father who was hospitalized, the 签 was 下下签, said my father has 血光灾, at the end,he really passed away fr. heart attack n the operations caused him lost a lot of blood.

Many yrs ago, when i went to 求签, i got a 下下签, the temple man explained that 下下签 doesn't mean it is bad.He also said Bad things happen now and then for good purposes.Indeed i was very 坏运气 for some times......till i met my DH.
Out of curiosity, is the 签 from the guanyin temple at bugis?

      Hi all,

been reading the whole thread over the last few days.

Just thought of sharing my 2 cents view, I noticed in the last 2-3 pages or so, the replies seems to be deviating towards the whole 还债 concept in a "I’m a victim" of karma mentality and it sounds like it’s a giving up of one’s personal responsibility towards our own life and the choices we chose to make.

Regardless of whether our kids or our partner is here to collect or repay debts, it’s still what we do today and what we do in this lifetime that matters, that will shape the eventual outcome of the circumstances. What’s good may not stay good, what’s bad may not stay bad.

Came across this review of the place from a friend of mine. I'm quite impressed by the pics of the mini legoland part.

      Hi Evermeet,

Could you furnish some details. Thanks much ... 😄
Hi, my apologies for my late reply as I was awaiting for my supervisor to give the go-ahead to post this.

Our Family Service Centre runs this academic support (tution) programme for the children at our student care centres for low-income families who are not able to otherwise engage a personal tutor. This is to assist the parents who might not be able to supervise or coach their children in their learning.

We have 3 student care centres running this programme, the Sengkang branch is the one where we still need more volunteers. This programme runs for 1 and a half hours every saturday and volunteers will be needed to commit for a minimum of 3 months.

What can you benefit from this?
An enriching experience in working with children from less fortunate backgrounds. If you're a parent yourself, it will also be a good opportunity to learn to appreciate your own children better, to look for the positives, and there will be opportunities to attend training workshops as well.

Those interested can drop me a pm and i can refer you with more details. 😃

      hi all,

i was reading through the other threads in this forum and came across this thread and thought perhaps i should add my input.

I currently work at a student care centre (BASC) under a family service centre. Under our student care centres and childcare centres, we do have students who come from low income families and such whose children lack the necessary support at times to do well in school.

We do have an upcoming programme that is meant to target their academic needs and if you are interested, i could provide more info about it.
