Anyone register their child in Yumin?

ChongZheng vs Yumin


Chongzheng is better in academic but then Yumin CCA is better and seems to be an "all-rounder" kind of school… Which school would you choose?

I have tried coaching him at home after work and after he got back from school… One letter per day and so far he is able to recognise most if not all of the letters in the Alphabet.
I have asked him many times why he doesnt like school? Is it because he doesnt like his friends? Or teachers? Or hours too long? He cannot verbalise the reason to me… But I think it’s because he finds the hours too long, no school holidays, whereas all my cousins’ kids go to "normal" PAP kindy with school holidays and shorter hours so during school hols my cousins take leave bring the kids out…
Maybe he doesnt like to be in school all year round??


As per discussed with my hubby, we have also enrolled him in a better kindergarten, a normal 4-hour program in a SPARK accredited school with English Speech & Drama enrichment lessons.

Hopefully the new environment is more conducive for him to learn and make him a happier learner.

thank you for your replies Mummies & Daddies.. During the CNY holidays I have spent alot of time with him, and also after speaking to his teacher, I realised he is not motivated in school and hence not paying attention / switch off ...

I asked my son at home, he seems to be able to recognise his letters and tell me what Animals/things for what Letters but in school he simply just switches off.
The teacher feedbacked that he likes pictures, colors and numbers better than Languages (ABC and Mandarin)..

after some discussion with his teacher and my hubby, we decided to let him try a couple more months there. If he's still not coping in the environment, we will switch him to a 4-hour \"normal\" Kindy program instead of full-day 8hour CCC.

Hi parents, I would like to seek some advise.

My soon-to-be 4 yr old son doesn’t seem to like going to school which is full-day childcare. His teacher feedbacked that he is not confident in school and cannot seem to recognise the 26 letters of the alphabet.

He has been with the same CCC for 3 years, and the teachers are the same… Previous year his teachers also said the same thing. I wonder if I should change schools for him to those 3-hour Kindy program? Or send him to enrichment classes??

Anybody facing same problem as me?

Desertwind, this morning I called up to enquire about the registration and school bus services (in case I started working and need the bus service)… the lady told me their vacancies always run out fast, and most parents start Q-ing as early as 6AM outside the school on registration day.


That is so kua-zhang… Thought you registered in May and still got the last vacancy??

Your son is in AM or PM session? I’m going to put him in 2nd session because 8am he still sleeping! I thought the 2nd session timing is more apt for us.

Hi Desertwind, distance shouldnt be a prob cos im driving. But if im working by then, i think i will put him on the sch bus. Is yr son taking the sch bus??
