    • RE: Seeds D'learning House - Discussion

Anyone has reviews of Seed D Learning kindergarten? I heard they are more academic focused. Do they prepare your child well for P1? However if they are more academic, will the child resent going to school?

      Thanks sky minecrafter,

My sister-in-law mentioned she had friends whose kids are still in Beauty World and they find it effective but they are in upper pri and lower secondary. I would like to know the good teachers for mid-primary. From your experience maybe its the preschool teacher that is not so good? I agree FLS probably has very strong teachers. That is our second choice, first is Beauty World.

      Cloud Cloud:
Finally, managed to see the materials for P1 at Jiang and Wang. Felt that Jiang materials are more “Chim”. This meets my objectives as I can teach what is in the text. I need the centre to teach beyond the text. Centre staff at Jiang explained that the 3 hr class at FLS will cover more difficult stuff that are not covered in the 2 hr 听说读写 class.

My sister-in-law sent her child for their 3 hour class, she told me it was very beneficial but that was about 4 years ago. Is FLS still good? How about their other branches? Am thinking of Beauty World one..do you know who are the good teachers there?

May I know anyone whose child has attended Tchr Suet Fun's class. Is she new in TAS?

I think teacher Suet Fun is new..My dd went for 2 lessons for make up at Parkway..DD enjoyed her class and said she was patient and she could understand her lesson well. Seems not bad..

You can try to bring your child to GATE- Gifted and Talented Education. They have tests to help you assess and apparently they have enrichment classes to help such kids.

I took my first kid to a test before. (not with GATE)
can't recalled which test he took, WISC or SB-5

The conclusion was, my kid's score was not bad but not good enough for the psychologist to write a report to convince MOE to allow early entry into Pri 1.

If anyone is keen to read more about MOE's take on acceleration, read this.

Oh my sister in law tried to get her oldest to go to P1 one year earlier too..he was bored in K2, he was clearly ahead of his peers. But he was not allowed early entry as well. So she sent him for GATE classes that helped keep him interested to learn. He is now in primary 5, in the GEP programme.

      Hi,

Anyone knows which hotel is family friendly in London, going for work trip and bringing kids along. Worried they might be bored.

Thank you! Yes I am intending to sign up for their hol programme also:) Is their holiday programme very tough?

One of my colleagues who recommended said the same thing, her son is now in sec 1 and he is consistently top in English because of his grounding in TAS, now he does not need to sign up for any English tuition also. That impressed me and also the fact that she had recommended TAS to other colleagues and their kids also improved.

Now I am trying to hunt good phonics schools also haha..
It is ok, good stretch for kids who do not know much about writing. For those who can write well, it is good introduction to their way of teaching and learning more compositions and techniques I guess.. It is 4 hours long, in between there is a lunch break. I found the holiday programme beneficial and that is why we joined after attending a holiday programme.
