Is this good results? Saw from the other link, most JCs got 85?

EJC consisted 3 of the very good IP Sec Schools students.
This 2018 cohort 75% are from these 3 schools as reported by news article.
So EJC result...
Judging from RV and DHS's results, I suppose if the JAE's cop isn't better than 6 for science, 7 for arts, it won't help to pull up these schools results in the future.

For Riverian and Dunmanian IP (Integrated program) students, at PSLE, their Cut-off-point for P6 students, is above minimum 250. Around 252 for RV and around 256, for Dunman High.

As long as these two High schools are able to continue to value-add, even if JAE (Joint Admission Exercise) O-level students entered with Cut-off-point around 9 or 10 points, they will still be able to do well in GCE A level, because it is the \"value-addedness\" that will help them, turn them around, turn the situation around. Continue to keep up your good work, all Riverians and Dunmanians. Hao bang yah 🙂

Agreed, both DHS and RVHS are most value added school :rahrah:
Value added school?
DHS and RV take in P6 kids with 250 above (top 5-10%). Chances that such colleges likely to produce good to excellent A results is higher than non IP colleges.

RV:
yr 2016. about 31% with 3H2 % A
yr 2017. about 37% with 3H2 % A
Just Based on 3 H2 % A result , results so so though it should had been better since its IP college. Other non IP college did better than RV.
Based on 2018 results.
Yes, RV did well. Lets see it can continue to sustain such results.
Whats RV Mean Uni Rank Point? Nobody knows.

DHS:
Comparing its 2017 subjects results:
F Maths, Chemistry, Geo, ELL and History results dropped sharply.
GP, Bio, Lit improved much.
About 45% scored 3 H2 Distinctions ( yr 2018) compared to 50% ( yr 2017).

A mistake in your post. For NJC, 84.4 is median. Not mean (average).

They are different. So I see.
Thank you.

Warmest, heartiest Congratulations to All Dunmanians, on your excellent, fantastic 2018 A-level batch results. Bravo ! Keep it up !

https://dunmanhigh.moe.edu.sg/whats-new/2018-gce-alevel-results/
Good results but using actual calculation to tabulate 3H2 Distinctions:
167/373X100
= 44.7%
Why DHS say almost 50% got 3 H2 Dist?
44.7% is not almost 50%
Know the Average Rank University Point is a better gauge to tell JC performance.
So far:
NYJC: 85
NJC: 84.4

It’s worth remembering that not so long ago, AJC COP was much lower than that of NYJC. Guess what happen?""

I checked that AJC COP increased bigger than NYJC since 6 years ago ( year 2014), so its quite a while ago.
Words spread around.
People know which college(s) is better and striving to improve.
Main reason for the increased in AJC COP
Eg 2017 A level results, all H2 subjects except Chinese Lit and Malay Lit scored below National Avg % A.

UBK Mum:

Without all JC/institutions increasing their full A level results, there is no way to determine the ranking, however, if you believe the results of HCI, RI and VJC produced by those 6 pointers and below, you must also assume or believe that NYJC’s A level results should be equal if not better than VJC. The reason is that all students are the end product of our education system, the deviation between these 6 pointers and below cannot be too large or there will be a problem, its either the system or the school. If NYJC take in gems and produce trash, I dont think it popularity will improve year after year, words will travels and students are not stupid. Its good to have competition and we should give credit when it is due.

Very true.
VJC Art Departments standard has dropped based on A level Results eg Humanities Subjects eg Eng Lit, History, CSE, Geo scored below Natuonal Distinction % A.
Words spread and popularity dropped for Art.
