    • RE: Why are social skills important for life, not just school?

No time is definitely an excuse. It can be as simple as the please and 10q at home, when parents converse or ask their child to help out or showing the child how to treat the maid with respect. Such as parents putting down their phone and give their child 100% attention, than sms-ing and talking their child at the same time… Or when eating out, just saying 10q to the auntie who comes around and helps to clear your table at food courts and so forth… there so many little things which are easily forgotten…

    • RE: All About Choosing and Buying Violins

Hi phankao, yes i was referring to a 7/8 which snowiebob was asking about. The body of each violin is different due to the different model and mould it is made of, and they can vary slightly in size (both width and length) even if they are classified as a 3/4, or any other size. The standard sizing that violins follow is based on the length of its body (not including the neck), 14" for 4/4, 13" for 3/4, 12" for 1/2 and 11" for 1/4…

    • RE: Achieving Financial Freedom - What does it mean for you?

I think it is a mind set thing. Like the chinese saying 知足常乐, if you are contented with what you have, then you will be happy. Money is never enough and wants are unlimited, so if one keep wanting wanting and wanting, then that person will never be satisfied. Sometimes we spend so much time looking at what we want, forgetting to appreciate what we already have...

I strongly believe that one can have all the money in the world, but that does not make the person the happiest man on earth.

    • RE: Men say local women are too materialistic

Since long long long ago, parents have been marrying off their daughters to better off families to secure a better future for their daughter… isn’t that the same?

Besides, now women have the opportunity to have a higher status in the society, so why can’t we ask for a better partner? We are just raising the bar, how can that be materialistic? I say it is the man who cannot keep up with the woman progressing, and thus make such statements.

      Hi SnowieBob

A ladies size violin is slightly smaller than a full size violin. Somewhere between a 4/4 and 3/4. But it is not so commonly available.
My niece bought a new violin recently for about $600, handmade and it sounds very nice… not from the shop you mentioned.

    • RE: Does teacher earns commissions?

Not sure how much the teachers earn commission from the shops when they recommend, but for sure they do make a cut for each successful sale.

Since teachers earn a commission, are the instruments they "recommend" necessary the best for you or the best for their pockets? Guess that is something to think about…
