Our son is a restless soul and it was hard enough pushing from low 23,24 to 30,31, it will be even harder pushing past that now. But we have faith. As for the Vocab, try typing up word lists for your child. It is a meaningful activity we do together as a family, better than watching TV which I find to be full of prideful, vain and individual characters. I find that one time in the vocab book provided is not enough and a second round of reinforcement is needed. Challenges are a blessing, do not shy from them. With the right choice, all things are possible. Speaking of Composition, his marks have improved significantly with their special writing style, not sure I should discuss that here. It is said one of the direcors is quite an elitist fellow and I do find him a bit full of himself. But do not forget that Samson was chosen to deliver the Jews.
Anyhoo, its my belief 35 and above. Otherwise it isn't safe and a surprise in any other paper may go off track. Last year DD got her 37 finally. Edusave award also finally. This year somehow slipped a bit, 36. Very disappointing and it's the crucial year some more. Needs to pull up your socks, I told her. Have you noticed the vocab is getting harder and harder? How to make her remember so many good words? This is the hardest tuition she has ever been too!! 😂

Yes! Hear hear. Mother of two sons here too.
I believe that by teaching our children the right values, they will become responsible and moral adults. As a Mother of two boys it is important for me that they will grow up to share the values my Husband and I possess. A good moral education is necessary as to keep them on the right path. Show them the way and guide them with a firm, but loving hand.
I raise them to be honest, hardworking and truthful. They are a testament to my husband and I and everything we have done for them.
We chose a Christian school to groom them in the right ways. But we also teach them to respect others beliefs. That is the way we want them to grow up. -

RE: What's the purpose of Life?
Truly, and I hope nobody is offended. My faith is my reason for living. When I see my two sons, my husband, I know I have been truly blessed. The truth is all around me!

RE: Is your child happier in GEP school or his/her old school?
It was not easy at first. He cried the first day back from school. The work was so much more difficult and the new classmates could be unkind. We were surprised as we had selected a school for its values. But in the end we realised that trials and tribulations are blessings in disguise. One year later, he has made new friends and has been enjoying himself a lot more. Now we thank God we have made the right choice and know that he is where he is supposed to be.
The first year (P4) is the hardest. Stick with it and you will find it gets easier. It is said that P5 is the best year and P6, it is time to refocus on the test that will separate the wheat from the chaff. God bless. -

RE: All About Grooming & Encouraging Good Reading Habits
Perhaps this may strike some as a bit presumptuous but I find that reading the Good Book and other such materials in our Sunday Youth Grouo has helped my son enormously. He is not afraid to express himself and he leads our cell group also. It is a true blessing.

RE: Comparing Math Enrichment Programmes
Personally I find that it is not so good going for private tuition. Individual sessions are more likely to cause disengagement. Peer pressure is also an effective lever for many kids so long as their environment is carefully controlled.
