    • RE: Sole Pain

You consulted GP? Due to ageing?? May I ask how young are you?

For foot problem, can be from many issues, best to consult a foot specialists, podiatrist.
I have been having heel pains despite wearing proper footwear for the past 5 years and had thought that I am suffering from heel spurs from years of abuse of high heels and ill-fitting shoes and also being overweight. After consultation, that it is due to my hip placement that caused one leg longer than the other.

Now fitted with a proper insole, the pain goes away. And i can stand and walked for a whole day and not have pains.

In general, woman are smarter than man.

That's why there are more woman staying at home and relax; and more man hard at work to bring home the bacon.
In the case of the lion pack, the lioness is the one who hunt.
When caught a prey, the lion will strut over, growl and get his full share b4 others.

Clearly not the relax at home scenario leh.

    • RE: Confinement Food

      BusyB:
I don't use coarse salt at home. Used only the refined salt, so I use that for washing. I use a lot though, and rub it without adding too much water initially, then rinse once I'm done with that. While doing the rubbing, I will also tear / cut off the fatty pieces sticking around.

For cooking, I usually put it in boiling water to cook for 10mins, then drain it. This will remove most smell. Cut it up to put in pepper soup to cook (boil the pepper soup 1st and it taste better if the pepper soup is boiled with some pork ribs or the big pork bones).

Try it out and tell me your results! Enjoy!
My mom will also add some cornstarch to get rid of the \"oiliness\" after washing out with salt. She use the papaya leaves if she can get some to do this job too, supposedly to tenderise the stomach too.

Then she actually will \"fried\" it in a hot dry wok w/o oil/water, this is to \"seal\" the outer layer, then she put a lot (a handful of each type) of cracked black and white peppercorns into the stomach before slow cooking it for like 6 to 8 hours.

She will add a whole chicken (best if can get kampung one= organic) to the last hour of cooking to add flavour.

I had like 1 carton (about 8kg) of ginger, 6 bottles of wine, 6 pig trotters, 10 chickens, lots and lots of fish, 1 set of kidneys, quite a few pork loins, kgs of spinach/kailan/broccoli, trays of eggs (I had about avg 2 eggs per day) etc.

I love confinement food, which my mom cook for us even on a monthly basis (chicken/pig stomach soup, ginger trotters, sesame, ginger and wine kidney/pork/chicken) .
I think if I were to still eat in such a manner, will be hitting the 150kg mark.

    • RE: Uproar over new rental flats

      Funz:
Short term, yes, having the rental flats next to your block may affect the value of your property but in the long run, with Singapore being so land scarce, don't think it will affect much.

Actual cases are: Toa Payoh, Commonwealth (Tanglin Halt), Redhill, Bt Merah, Clementi, etc.

where in the 70s and 80s, lots of 1 room and 2 rooms rental flats. Now, easily the most expensive HDB estates.
