    • Recommendations for Burmese/Myanmese Maids?

      hi Everyone

Does anyone have any experience with Burmese/Myanmese Maids?
Know of or can recommend any agency ?
Can educate us on their culture?

      Much appreciated.

      IMO: recording is crucial

I cant be monitoring 24/7… But I can fast forward 1 day into 1hr or less…

and true, prevention is cure… But if the "anything" were to happen I would definately want to have a recording.

    • RE: Do you cane your daughters when they misbehave?

      Ichigokun:
      @MrBig

But I think the earliest group with such thinking is Chinese. Confucius philosophies appeared 500 years before the bible.

Um... So yeah. Maybe different religious and race groups learnt from each other in the past so this punishing children thing came to \"flourish\"
      Hi Ichigokun,
Agree. Acutally not disputing which came 1st or later.
      🙂

      hmmmm

If they’re old enough to read and write…
Why not punish them by writing alphebets and/or lines ?

Kinda kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
Of course … you might also have to consider the association they might make, that learning = punishment…
      So thread carefully

      It's not just Chinese Culture.

IMO: most cultures and ethnic groups punish their children.

      The Bible (NIV) says:

      Proverbs 23:13-14
      13 Do not withhold discipline from a child;
if you punish them with the rod, they will not die.
14 Punish them with the rod
      and save them from death.

      Proverbs 13:24
24 Whoever spares the rod hates their children,
but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.

      Very similar to Confucious

Did the operators tell you their curriculum was designed by someone from kinderland?

That’s another "selling point" they’ve used, but when questioned why they don’t franchise kinderland "Why should I pay Kinderland?" was the reply.

    • RE: Do your kids still sleep on your bed?

      MrBig:
      lol~!

My DD who is only 2 yrs old has effectively kicked me out of bed with my wife. hahaha
But the fun side is before her bedtime, she will always wanna sleep on daddy's bed ... which is the mattress on the floor.
So cute .... it's like she just wants to be where I am ...
      Haha~!
Dearest Wife is pregnant again !@!!!!! WooHoo!@@@!
But she wont be able to keep lifting DD up into the bed (after she's fallen asleep), coz I'm afraid I'll squash her.
I cant carry my daughter into bed coz my arms are really big... and... so far... every attempt has woken her up.

Now we got a serious space issue, anybody got any advice how to cram 2 kids & 2 adults into 1 bedroom???
