For my case, during the registration, we were asked to fill in the P1 registration form. This form has a q-num attached to it. This q-num was the same number that we were assigned for the ball num.
I thought the ball nos. go via birth cert no.? Or is each school allowed to determine how to assign ball nos.?wanderlust-alm:
Hi ,
In all fairness, the balls nos are also randomly placed that is not in alpabetical order. -
SAHM_TAN:
Yes, can walk in to fill the form. But call school to chk time that school gate is open for visitor and if their balloting session for P2C is over.
ryes,
So can walk in to fill out wait list form?ryes:
ryes,
Now that P2C is over, you can also fill up the waitlist for the other school that you were considering.
It's ok to put in more than 1 waitlist.
Can I ask if anyone knows, so many on wait list. Who will the sch choose to call
My 2c sup sch also must ballot. How!!!
If you are going for a school that's going to ballot at P2Cs, pls have a school as your back-up that is around your area that will definitely have vacancies for Phase 3. It is one thing to travel a great distance for a school that you preferred, it's another thing to do the travelling for a school that you do not prefer.
All the best. -

I was the 2nd to register for Phase 2B but DS ball no is 21 and our surname starts w C . wasn't too sure if it is by birth cert no too.

Are you saying its a non-random way of assigning numbers to the children? If so there should be a correlation between month of birth and probability of being picked in the ballot. Is this the case?
I am saying that birth certificate numbers are not random, but has a correlation to when the child's birth is registered. So, December babies have bigger BC nos. than say June babies. And those born overseas have even bigger nos. That one I don't know what kind of number it is called, but that will be the child's NRIC no.
Anyway, it seems from lynn2009's post that there are more than one method of assigning ball numbers. -
In NAP, the number was assigned by birth cert/birthdate. My boy was born on Dec, his ballot number was the last number on the list.
Crazy though, the 1st number that was drawn was No. 1, followed by 2, 3, 4… and the administrator was turning the wheel so … Slowly…
And my boy’s number came out second last! OMG! Nearly missed the train… -

I guess mine is more straight forward. Don't need to think of so complicated.XXXX:

Thanks chiefks
I'm sorry you had to move on to Phase 2C(S). But miracles happen more often than you think. A number of my friends were called by their waitlisted schools late in December with the offer to transfer. It might just happen for you. In the meantime, just try to get a school in Phase 2C(S).ryes:
... Thanks all. Now have to think alternative.
Have filled up wait list but chances are minimal. Who will want transfer their child out. -

I shall live with the regret not speaking up.ryes:
Basically speak or remain silent forever.
Exactly! You wouldn't want to say to your partner, \"Too bad we missed out, I could actually see that our ball was never going to be selected in this draw, but hey-ho the system is statistically fair over all so what more could we have done?\" Partner: \" :censored: :censored: :censored:  \"
But hey, I wouldn't know after speaking up and the spinner spins hardly and then the odd goes against me where all the other number start having a higher chance when they are in the center portion. Because the trend this morning was all the mid range were being picked and I'm in the mid range. Unluckily not picked.
Gotta move on -

Thank you.
Anyone can share what happens if (touch wood) 2c sup unsuccessful?
I read somewhere we will have to choose 3 schs and moe will post us to either 3 schs before phase 3 starts. -

I didn't say anything either, and we were 3rd from last to be picked. Overall the ballot process is fair, accept it and move on. Focus on what you can actually control. Good luck in the next phases.
