It's puzzling why when an ex-RGS girl does something socially unacceptable like being involved with a law professor, netizens will generalise the sch's culture as unhealthy or the cohort as immoral.

But when an ex-nygh girl does something questionable like the disgruntled A-star scholar who walked naked down holland v and 'cry father cry mother' about her 6-yr bond in spite of signing for 2 scholarships with eyes wide open, netizens arent as vicious.

It depends which website or blogs you read

No, thought netizens were rather vindictive towards this HV nude pedestrian then...Still quite negative on some websites.
I don't read other websites but what I meant was the netizens don't drag in the sch nygh for an ex-girl's conduct as much as for RGS. I am not from either schools. It's just my impression from reading kiasu parents comments over the yrs.

Some schools have more 'haters' than others...not necessary a bad thing.

Seriously, who would be talking about your school if you had come from Goodlands Sec School...most people wouldn't even know if it existed!

Why do some schools get more ‘haters’? Sour grapes maybe.

Some people are just bored with their lives and want something juicy to gossip about.
I think both schools are great, although ‘all schools are good schools’.

Definitely NYGH, NYGH focuses a lot about character development and strives to make every girl an all rounder. I've done a lot of research about the two schools when it was my daughter's year (2012) to choose and now I am very contented with the education she is getting there. The teachers there are hands down the best teachers I've ever met and they give genuine feedback about your child. Not only that, the school's vice principals are extremely responsible and they caring! Good job NYGH!! Also, I heard from my daughter they do not have a discipline master/mistress as they believe that the students do not need one and that teachers can double up the role as a discipline master/mistress. I think the school is really good, in my opinion! 🙂
