ACSI has interview? I remember they used to be the easier...just HAST.

Usually no interview. And it's not just based on HAST alone. HAST results is only the first stage of sieving. For DSA 2016, I know of high ability students who were not successful in ACSI DSA. Instead, those who were successful were all rounders who do well not only in academics, but non-academic aspects as well.
For bright students, it's not difficult to perform well in HAST, but to be able to do well in studies and at the same time juggle multiple non-academic commitments, that's what the school is looking for.

        Good that you're back!
Can you name me some non-academic commitments ACSI typically looks for? Thanks!
:imanisland: howdy too zbear, nbm & js

        ds not yet complete ib.

there's a difference between sports and academic dsa for acsi. rugby / swimmers / etc will go to express unless they are good academically. I'm guessing people here are looking at dsa into acsi ib? other non-academic commitments can be anything really. leadership, music, sports, anything outside of school. but must have certain level of achievement. grade 1 in music or recreational swimming is no count.

          Hi,

May I know if a child enters through DSA, is the cut-off point lower than the normal intake?

          TIA

There is no \"cut-off\" point for DSA student. For a student who got a Confirmed Offer, as long as he/she gets a T-score equal or higher that is eligible to Express Stream (around 200 I think), he/she is confirmed a place in the school.

              Thanks OMG,

Yes the t-score. As I heard some school needs a lesser tscore than their normal intake if it is through dsa. Is this true?

Is this true?
DSA selection do not look at T-score for their selection. In fact, the Confirmed Offer is given even before PSLE starts. With that CO, the student will be given a place even if their score is below the school cut off. At PSLE results release date, they will have a letter saying the school they are posted to and do not have to take part in the S1 Exercise to select the secondary schools. So I do not quite understand why you mentioned for these students, schools needs a lesser T score than their normal intake. These students are already \"selected\" based on their DSA results, not T score. :rahrah:

May I know if my DS apply and get a CO of the CCA of the school offered 0 level program. Then when psle result is out and his score is good enough to enter IP with the same CCA, can the school offer the transfer if we appeal? Thanks

CHS does allow such transfers, after PSLE results is released. Not too sure about other dual-track schools though.

It is better to check with the school that you are going to apply directly as it is subjected to the principal's decision. For ACSI (where the IP intake is small), they will allow the transfer only if there are very few cases. In certain IP schools, the class size this year is bigger (30++) than usual so it may also mean there is less allowance for transfers.
