For those whose kids are in the 2nd group oral today, did they have to wait for everyone in the batch to complete before they can be dismissed?
My gal in Group 2 for English Oral today.
She was dismissed from school once she finished her turn. -
Like Champion’s DD, my DS was in the 2nd batch too & dismissed immediately after his oral.

Hi Raisintan,
Group 2 students can leave immediately after oral. The reason why group 1 students have to be held back because they need to make sure all the group 2 students are reported at school before they release the group 1 students. Both groups of students cannot be in contact at all as the oral topic is the same for both groups. The oral topic is leaked the moment the group 1 students are released.

DD1 told me there's an error in the PSLE Chinese oral passage. Boy's name was originally 明华. Then suddenly there's a 小明. DD1's friend got confused and read as 小明华!
DD1 asked examiner which name should she read, and examiner told her whatever was printed on the passage then read what.

My #2 was in group 2 for chinese oral and she was released after her turn. She was only released about 12ish today, and her reporting time in the morning was 915. It ended up being a full 3-hour or so.

Yes my DD told me about the mistake. She was rather surprised by the change in name but fortunately she read the right name as reflected on the examiner's script.
I think SEAB should do a better job in proofreading their oral scripts in future. -

My DS told me the same as well the first thing I picked him up from school. During preparation time, he asked the examiner and was told to read whatever was printed in the passage too. However, when he was in front of the examiners, he decided he has to correct the name back to 明华 as it didn't sound right. Hopefully they are not penalised either way. -
No standard, can make such mistake

My daughter is 10th in the queue. Reporting time 9.45am and she ended only at 1.15pm. That’s very long… thought she would be finished earlier

Reporting time for session 1 is at a certain time but actual start of examination is usually 1-1.5hr later... students are required to report earlier and actually there is a lot of waiting time... because the school needs to make sure every candidate is present... you wouldn't believe that in every school every year... there are bound to be late-comers.... teachers and OM are on stand-by to GO TO STUDENT'S HOUSE to pick up the late students if necessary.... and don't be shock... IT HAPPENS... and all schools make sure that nothing goes wrong for any candidate before the exam starts....
preparation time for all candidates is 10 mins... but during the testing, examiner cannot interrupt or cut the students short... students can talk as long as they want to... examiners are REQUIRED to say this sentence after the student seem to have finished speaking \"do you have anything else to add on\" or \"你还有什么要补充的吗?”... so if the students continue talking or repeat what they have said again... they cannot stop them... and the next student will just have to wait....
reporting time for session 2 is also fixed... but they students will be confined in the hall until all students are present and also all students in sesson 1 have completed the test... (so if session 1 students finish late... session 2 will start late).... only after all students from session 1 are in \"holding room\"... then session 2 students gets to move to their examiner waiting room... when all session 2 students are settled.... then session 1 students gets dismissed.....
That's why dismissal timing is hard to tell... different group different... sometimes the TOP class examiner don't even get their break time between the 2 sessions
