if the child's behavior no good or academic results no good, and mother teaching inside the school, the boss (Principal) will start to ponder, may affect her staff appraisal performance : \"What kind of school Teacher, are you ? Can't even teach your own kid well ? Then, how to teach so many classes, in my school ? \"it's not easy to have the child studying in the same school.
if the child does well, people will gossip.
if the child is not, the teacher will feel lousy because his/her colleagues will wonder why and whether the parent is teaching.
so it's more of a case of inconvenience to have the child in the same school.
I do know of 2 teachers whose kids are in the same school as their parents. -

The <1km's should stand a decent chance since the last few yrs most of the 2A2 <1km are in single digits. But the 1-2km category, I think no chance to ballot.
whoever able to get into Nanyang primary last 8 left-over seats via 2A2 balloting this year : are really lucky ! -
DS’s classmate’s mum who is also a teacher in the same school sometimes relief teaches their class. The other kids are ok with it but its the classmate who feels very self conscious about it…

maybe the kid feels weird to have the mum teaching the class and having to call her Mrs xxx. -

Phase 2A2 - do you think there is balloting under 1km ? 1-2km any chances to ballot?cindycsm:
Nanyang really lucky!
Nanyang : left behind 10 seats, for 2A2
Ai Tong : still leave behind 16 seats, for 2A2 -

Phase 2A2 - do you think there is balloting under 1km ? 1-2km any chances to ballot?[/quote]for Nanyang and Ai Tong : balloting will arise under 2A2 for SC, less than 1 km, for the miserable left-over seats from 2A1, and also because both are co-ed schools.phtthp:

actually, MOE should ban (bar) subject HODs from letting their child enrol into that school where they are teaching in : because HODs have access to ALL levels' exam papers, P1 to P6 Prelim (CA1, CA2, SA1, SA2) in that school, since HODs will review all exam papers set by their fellow peer Teachers, give advice to ALL other level subject Tr, what question to set or what not to set, so all exam papers (for ALL level) are at the HODs' finger tips, readily.
so in a way it is also inconvenient to have the teachers' kids studying in the same school for the reason of access to exam papers. what if the subject HODs themselves have kids studying in the school?phtthp:
the mother teaching in the school may not teach her own child, or school bar her from setting school exam paper for her child's level, but may still be able to access school exam papers SA1 / SA2 for her child's level, kept inside the school cupboard staffroom : unless the subject HODs in her school make absolutely sure that she literally no access to exam papers, for her child's level -
MOE website finally updated: https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/primary-one-registration/balloting
