Yes, indeed unbelievable! Not only for Sec 1 (2019), there are alot of awards for Sec 1 to Sec 4 (2018) for achieving good academic awards, cca, community service, all-rounder etc. Those students who graduated to Hwa Chong JC - JC1 (2019) also came back to receive their awards for their excellence achievement at Sec 4 (2018).

The last session whereby the most prestige awards given to Top IP student - Loh Yuan En, Jolyn who received Ling Siew May Scholarship & Model student - Zhang Junfang, who received Liew Yuen Sien Scholarship. The 2 students were invited to make a speech to the audience about their school journey, the opportunities given, their aspirations & motivations etc.. These 2 students' parents were even invited to the stage with their daughters. That must be the most touching moments for the 2 proudest parents!

The school was also thoughtful to prepare a rose with a laminated note \"Your love is my greatest support\" for all awards receipients to be given to us parents at the end of the ceremony. I applauded the school for going to such extend to make the girls appreciating their parents, on top of receiving their well-deserve awards. 👍👍👍

      Wow! :congrats:
      You’re one proud mum, Gangjiong!

      Esteema,

      :thankyou:

Never expected dd to receive any awards at NYGH though.. It was really a surprise for both me and my dd. Blessed and thankful...🙏🙏🙏

Yes I was pleasantly surprised with the presentation of rose to parents. I don’t think they had it last year so yeah was very happy when presented the rose. No wonder my gal beforehand keep texting me and asking if I had reached the hall and when I did and went to look for her, I said “Wah so nice ah, school congratulate you with a rose”, then she and her friends gave me a blank look lol. Anyway yeah was impressed with many of the girls achievements!!

I would recommend Mr Lau Hock Soon and Ms Yvonne Chen from Future Academy. Mr Lau is former HCI HOD of Maths, while Ms Chen is former RGS Maths teacher. They have IP classes that students are mainly from NYGH. You may check with them.

                Hi,

Is there a parent chat group anywhere for Sec 3? I realised the chemistry practical n worksheets are either incomplete ( only selected qns done as instructed by teacher) or not marked. My child’s work is partially marked for a few. No answer key is given so god knows the rest is correct or wrong? As of now, I do know of another class that is rushing through all their incomplete worksheets this weekend as the test is coming.

                      Hi

Can I check, if a child cannot cope with hcl at NYGH, and wishes to switch to normal Chinese class at end of Sec 1 or Sec 2, is there any such option available? Or the child will be immediately posted to the O level class once she chose such an option?

Any existing parents can share? Thank you very much.

:skeptical: There are many prob in the sch under current principal, vigorous arguments against the principal's decision making during this year Sec 3 PTM is clear & she had to defend. As a results the school tries to put in effort to address to the Sec 3 concerns.
