Last year I think the paper was relatively easier. As a results, the T-scores distribution was very flat. Many concentrated in the 23+ to 250 range. So the competition for the 23+ and 24+ schools became very very fierce.
Last year, a lot of 23x-24x (relatively easier paper).
Why some 23x schools’ COP jumped as high as +6 ?
This year, also a lot of (22x 23x, 24x).
Will jump too ? -
Hi all,
RI produce more president scholars then HCI, can i say that RI is better than HCI? Some comment that RI students are snobbish but in actual fact HCI students are equally or more snobbish. Anyone has any comments? -
MOE set the HMTL criteria :
• Ranked among the Top 10% of the entire PSLE cohort, or
• In the Top 11%- 30% band who meet the language criteria (i.e an A* grade in the MTL or at least a Merit in the HMTL)
for this year (2019 Psle),
if a student score 225, is he inside the Top 30 % band, offered Eligibility letter to do HMTL (Sec 1).? -
Any idea about cut off point for RI this year?

My prediction is 260. I am just guessing.

either stay the same, or rise by 1 point

Yes there is correlation , take a look at COP with respect to ESIS
There is. There was a drop of ESIS COP (year in P6, 2012 to 2013) of 4 when RV COP (year entering Sec 1, 2013 to 2014) was dropped by 5 pts.macflashpay\" post_id=\"1950898\" time=\"1575180896\" user_id=\"118170:

Which in this case, has no correlation
River Valley High School's COP*
2019 - 252 (-8)
2018 - 250 (-12)

2008 - 254 (-10)
2007 - 253 (-7)[/quote]What correlation is there? That it’s always below ESIS?
The differences are all over the place, from -6 to -12. With a good correlation, you should be able to derive a coefficient that could reasonably predict the behavior of the COP - except that in this case, we can’t. There are simply too many factors at worked beside ESIS. Just for example, ESIS is around the same this year as last (+1), yet many are saying COP will raise by as much as 5 points? Objectively, we should be seeing no changes in most, if not all the school’s COP this year.
Personally, I won’t be surprised if RV COP raise by 1 or even 5, if peasants comment about RV doing a lot of positive things in the west (whatever they are) bears fruit. That said, I would also not be surprised if RV COP drop by 1 or more. Who knows, the East and the North (who always remembers) may have had a nett increase of 250 pointers compared to those living in the West this year. In such a scenario, being the best school in the (Far) West may not be that advantageous. -

I think the COP for this year will continue to be in the 25x range. Got president scholar from there leh...... don't play play..... -

Pioneer JC also got President Scholar before leh. Didn’t stop the JC from being closed down (sorry, I mean merged). -
