Hi parents,

My house to Bukit Panjang Primary school is btw 1-2 km distance if I apply for PV, will I have a chance to be shortlisted for PV application? to get 2B ballot.

      thanks in advance.

Yes you will have a chance as 2B no ballot required so far.

      Hi Sasawan,
surprised 2B no ballet required, mean not many parents applied for PV. BPP not that popular in the BP area? thought it is the only school with history, better academic results. ...
PV is not just a case of how many applicants, it's also a case of how many PV the school wants and whether the school even wants you. The more popular school, the school with a long history, and the school with more involved parents (which usually also mean better results) would need fewer PV since the school will not run out of volunteers and helpers from PSG or elsewhere.

If such a school chooses you as a PV, it's like striking lottery since you know there will be fewer 'competitors'. However, the process of being selected as a PV is as tough as striking lottery sometimes.

I am a PV with Sengkang Green Primary. I only managed to complete 20 hrs out of the 40 hrs requirement by end of Dec 2020. Looking at how the volunteer work are snatched up almost instantly, I am afraid that I may not be able to fulfil the 40 hrs requirement by end of Jun 21.

Any idea if schools will create work for PVs who are in such situation ?

Unlikely. You just have to snatch up the tasks as fast as you can. Some schools will try to discourage those who have hit 40 hrs already to let the others have their turn. Other schools don’t bother. It’s a cut throat world.

              Hi All,

I’m new parent, my girl is 4 yo next year (sc), I have time for PV programs . Would like to contribute my time as pv for 2 schools in case 1 of the popular school drawn me .
Can I apply under phase 2b at the same time for 2 schools? 1 popular school is >2km , the other one is within 1 to 2km . Both school will apply under phase 2b , or I only hv 1 chance to apply under phrase 2b if failed will go for phrase 2c?

You can PV at as many schools as you want.

Once you fulfill the hours per school, the school(s) will issue you the Phase 2B eligibility letter.

But you can only apply to one school during Phase 2B registration, not two. Eventually you have to decide which one. The other letter will go to waste. One chance in 2B only. Fail then go 2C.

Noted with thanks ! do you think I have chance for applying 2b under a popular school (st Hilda)but distance is more than 2km ? Since only hv 1 chance , definitely will only be pv for 1 school , otherwise the other one will go to waste .

St Hilda ballots for SC < 1km in Phase 2B. You will have no chance to ballot at all. It is almost certain that your application for PV will be rejected.

                      Greetings everyone,

My mom who is my boys caretaker since he was born lives in Toa Payoh. I am hoping to apply for PV at St Andrews Junior this year as my son is born in 2016. I checked online as see my mum place is not within 1-2km even though it’s just a overhead bridge across and a short walk. May I seek your expert opinions if I have a chance. Also any previous parent who have got successful placement as a PV to share what skill sets were preferred and if there is a template that can be shared for reference pls. Greatly appreciate any advice n inputs. This

If it is just an overheard bridge with short walk, it should be within short distance. Did you use one-map to check the home-school distance?
