Hi has anyone’s kid enrol in City Ballet elite program before ? Is it all ballet schools elite program students need to enrol in both Regular class as well as elite class ?
My 5yo girl is selected for their Elite class . Firstly she has Swimming classes on the same day as the elite class so I am not sure if I should push her to have two physical activity classes in a day…
However if I don’t let her join the elite program it probably means she will hardly have the chance and exposure to go for competition or performances to build up more confidence .
Any advice ? -
Thank you for the useful information, I learned a lot here.

Hi my niece currently at 6 yrs old is with the ballet school at west coast plaza instead of westgate. As for Yan ballet, she was there previously before covid 19. She enjoyed her class then. However if you child is going competitive, I think you need to research more on which kind of coaching suits her more

Hi! Before covid 19, a few years ago, I heard good reviews about city ballet elite program and back then because I heard the principal is impressive and the teachers coached the students so much that they could be competent enough to win the international competitions. However, the training schedule is quite rigorous and so the child has to be passionate about it enough to sustain. The kids who were in this elite program then happen to be 7/8 years old and passionate about ballet. For instance my niece at 6 years old currently, would not be passionate about it enough to join such a program. Hope this helps!

Does anyone has recommendation for Ballet school that does not require its student to take exams? Also if any advise what to expect in the long term for a child that does not participate in ballet exams? eg. lack of motivation, no direction, etc.
