I thought the name tag consists of only the student's name. I don't remember seeing another name tag consisting of the class name.

The P1 name tag states both the child's name and the class name.
Hmm i've already filled it as Peace 1 πŸ˜› guess will have to liquid paper it off upon receiving the new class detail. FYI I too didnt receive any letter yet as well.

Don't worry to much about the name tag. They will only wear it for the 1st week only.

I was looking at the lowest score. I heard of many popular schools that will ask their weakest students to transfer out so that a) those students can learn better at a slower pace b) sch can continue to maintain their high PSLE standard. I wonder whether PH have the same policy too?

DW know of this friend whose kid was in PH many yrs ago. He was an extremely academically weak child but PH persevered with him till the end. The sch's stand at that time was that they are a christian school so they won't give up on anyone. Till this date, dw's friend is still very grateful for the school's support. Not sure whether the sch's stand is still the same now.

Is this an item to buy in the booklist for 2011 P3?

We were not told or asked to buy the e-dict. Not even during the years when my elder boy was in P5/P6.

Hi, from what I understand, such policy of asking v weak students to leave the sch was of past practice in popular schs. Don't think MOE allow such matter to happen these days as many agree that some kids develop at a later stage and is not fair to ask them to leave.....

I can only share that the sch claims that it tries its best to make sure not too many pupils end up with all foundation subjects at PSLE.

It's easier to check characters when student needs to write compo...also one of the models is allowed to be brought into the exam hall (PSLE).
then I explained to him that in life everyone has a choice so we shouldn't force them. DS listened quietly.

                        Very smart boy.

My P3 boy sometimes also like that. BUT I am the LAW at home, so he got no choice but to listen to me πŸ˜‰

Guess that's our big difference. I allowed him to stick to his choice. Don't know whether next time will regret or not. Think dw sometimes also beh tahan my method of parenting.

The only time I'll put my foot down firmly is when he is rude cos I can't stand rude kids.
I am also the LAW at home...my kids have no choice but to listen too.
For me, I need to be firm with my kids and will not tolerate rudeness, telling lies and talking back...breaking any of that will guarantee a good spanking.
