helloeveryone:
for my jh2 jun hols, some students (the weaker ones) are called back for extra classes... some ccas will hold training sessions. basically we weren't given much work but there will definitely be projects to complete and of course to prepare for term 3's lit tests.
Thank you for sharing.
Do u think any chance of getting out of S'pore for a short trip like 4-5 days in the Jun hols? Planning now
-
helloeveryone:
yes. they are selected on the jh1's performance and jh2's physics results.
By chance, are you aware of the selection criteria for the A.Chem and A.Physics classes? And when do the selection take place?Jennifer:
there is the chemistry and physics accelerated class too.
These are for JH2?
My boy is doing A.Maths in JH1 semester 2 and for JH2 as well. Wld it be too much if he gets a placement in one of the Sci acelerated classes as well? He is into Physics now. -
phankao:
There's bus 852 that goes from Yishun (the main road) all the way to NJC.
Thanks much for the info. Guess that's the best way for DD to commute to n fro NJ but the journey seems quite long. Anyway, my DH will send her in the morning and she'll just have to make her way back after school. I look forward to learning more from you and other NJcian parents and wish you and your child a great year ahead! :celebrate: -

After the june hols, there will be another shortlisting which only about 25 students are selected for each subject. So since, the student can be chosen for both accelerations, you can start with the one your child likes the most. Because there is also abio in jh3. but you have only two days free - tues and thu.
And i think in jh2, amath will start take the place of the normal math curriculum (sth like banded classes). There is also the math oylmpiad class. -

Oh, it's held on the short days? That means those that already have electives on those days cannot do, lah. Math Olympiad class is available from jh1 already.

Hi parents
Newbie of NJC here.
Can anyone advise what time we should leave home (Bishan) in order to reach school at 7:30am if we are driving?
Heard traffic is horrible in that area.
Thanks. -

from Bishan, guess you'll probably be coming down Lornie/Adam Rd into Bukit Timah Rd, right?Hi parents

At 7am, the right turn from Adam Rd into Bukit Timah Rd is really bad.
Do consider getting onto the PIE > exit into Eng Neo > Dunnearn Rd and drop your child at the NYGH/NJC bus stop.
Driving up Hillcrest Road is a bad idea on most mornings when the road is crammed full of \"RGPS traffic\". -

By car? I would usually have dropped my younger boy at pri school in Bishan latest by 6.50am before proceeding to NJC, altho' often even earlier than that. I usually aim to reach Eng Neo by 6.50am as that would be most ideal. It would already be starting to get jammed by that time. Then ds would get dropped at the NJC bus-stop gate by 7.10am.Hi parents
