Which part of Braddell are you staying ? 157 from Braddell Road outside SPH takes about 20 min to reach HCI. If you leave before 6:30am, probably takes less than 15 min.

just wondering - for those going to NJC, are you worried about the on-boarding programme?

Just a random question to all parents whose kids managed to get into popular schools like RI, RGS, NYGS, NJC, CHS, etc. Have u coached your kids or enrolled to tuition centres? How many times would you do revisions a day? Or the kids are naturally gifted and can absorb lessons very fast. Its best to get some tips from you all.

You can't sent your DD/DS to tuition centre all the time. It means he/she have not acquire the essence of self-learning which is the most important thing of any kind of education.

I did not pay a single tuition$ for the 2 DDs except for ballet n piano lessons which is beyond me. I coached them where I can but the most important thing you can be is a good mentor to them - instilling discipline, importance of hardwork and diligence, most importantly the love for the things they are learning and doing.

Some kids are naturally smart (or gifted ??) like my second DD who is in GEP and now in NUSHS. The eldest need to work harder and more focus and not get distracted if she will to excel.

NJC's syllabus is not exactly the same as other's sec schools, teachers sometimes give out notes, sometimes we learn to take notes ourselves. So tuition does not really work in NJ. It's better for me actually, more time for own revision. Revision time are based on how good you cope with the certain subject. Haha, not all students are gifted in NJ, what do you think we are, geinus? If students do not understand a certain concept, they can look for their teachers after class for further clarification. As for RI, RGS,CHS, my friends there are coping OK with it. πŸ˜„

Why worried? My ds has done 2 terms of boarding already. No problem at all.
