I was once told that chlorine in the water would have made it difficult for the virus to survive. Not sure if this is true. Anyone with medical background to advise?

same here… heard that chlorine ‘kills’ the bacteria and germs, not sure whether that is really true? Last week’s swim class was totally empty, except for the instructor. Only I am stupid enough to bring my son there.

I am suspending mine for a month. She is asthmatic, better safe than sorry.

          Hi,
Does your kid's swimming instructor allow you to suspend lessons or do you still have to pay for the lessons?

I am suspending my kid’s swimming lessons too. Not sure that enough is known about the virus, so maybe chlorine will or will not kill it, better safe than sorry.

Then again, this is around for some time. So, how long can we sustain this?

A side question. What preventive measures are your childrens’ schools taking to avoid spread of H1N1 within the school compound.

In my daughter’s school, they set up a 2nd "canteen", to separate the students during recess. And also stagger the recess time, so that not all the students are queuing at the foodstalls at the same time.

How about enrichment class? Will you keep yoiur child away from it for at least 7 days? Heard one popular enrichment centre has two confirm cases during the last week of school holiday.

I think those who have been to infected countries, should stay away from the enrichment center for 7 days. but not sure if the enrichment centers can do make up or refund.

I only know Hans Language Centre wrote to parents to make this offer of fee adjustment. The rest seem to do nothing but to keep a copy of homework for the kids when enquiry or just paste a notice advice them not to come.

Mine did not ask me to pay. 🙂

My daughter's school had the students' temp. taken and those with higher than 37.6 deg and with cough/sore-throat are asked to go home straight away. The school staggers recess time for different classes and cancels all CCAs. Students go straight to class, no more assembly.
