Pen88n:

Having seen more than a decade of changes in the PSLE scene in Singapore and having gone thru' 5 PSLEs by then (including your own?), maybe you can write a book of PSLE now and then / PSLE advice to parents. Can be a bestseller and earn lots of :moneyflies:
My own psle? That's in the 1970s, leh. I didn't even study specifically for it! Last time where got people prepare for psle like now!

In the old days, there were no grades for PSLE. Just pass or fail. 🙂

Gee, i must ask my schoomates from there since almost all of my jc mates(RJC) were from there. But yes, my own psle cert had no grades, but I thot it was bc I didn't want to apply for any other school, so it did not matter to me to ask further then.

I can't coach either. Too rusty. I just nag or give encouraging murmurs. 😄

Phankao, must look after your hair. 😄

I have actually been studying p6 math & science ok!!!! I've never done that with the older 2, alright? Aargh - my lovely hair - it's sadly gone past its days of glory, I'm afraid.

My son is in P5 and hair is turning white. Have not studied this hard b4.

              Thanks for your reply.
Hi

Just received the PSLE registration slip from my DS school.

I was checking the details and would like to clarify under the subject Chinese, are both the Listening Compre and Oral under Paper No. 03 ?

I asked this because for English subject, Listening Compre is Paper 03 and Oral is under Paper 04?

Just wondering if there's any printing error? Any parent here can help to verify. Thanks in advance!

I read the details of the form yesterday. For my feeling is Chinese Oral is same as English Oral under Paper 04, but both dates will announce later.

              Hi superann

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I thought so it is supposed to be Page No 04 for both English and Chinese Oral. But my DS registration slip stated Page No 03 for Chinese Oral and No 04 for English Oral.
Actually I found out MOE website has the time table.

Only MOE does. So they do their ranking internally and post you to schools based on your ranking. So you were basically choosing schools in the dark because you have no idea how you did compared to the rest of the cohort and what the cut-off for the schools was.

Oh, so the COP could possibly have been considerably lower then, since it's quite \"invisible\" and many could have gone to their affiliated schools, believing in a full 10-yr education, not bothering to apply for what is now known as \"top schools\".

In those days, most just chose to stay in their affiliated schools. The ones that chose to go RI/RGS were more often from non-affiliated schools.

                      Hi jtoh,

I’ve registered my daughter in my former school…10 years of education there…secondary and primary school side-by-side.
Now worried for son when he goes to P6 next year. Hope he will ‘wake up’ and strive for his choice of sec school.

Good luck for your son's PSLE next year. Your dd's in CHIJ?
