          Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get athletic/compression tights for kids? Been searching at major sports shops and they only have ones for adults. Thanks.

                  Hi all parents,

I just discovered my 5-year old son is flat-footed. I am wondering if you know of any good shoe shop for children with flat feet? Thinking of buying a pair of sandals and a pair of sport shoes for him. Thanks.

U may wish to consult the podiatrist at Singapore Foot Centre, who will be able to prescribe appropriate insoles and footwear. The various centres are listed in this link : http://www.nhgp.com.sg/ourservices.aspx?id=2315

My podiatrist says that children only develop their arches by about 6 or 7, i.e. It could still be normal for children at 5 to be flat-footed. (I have collapsed arches, and she told me to watch my 6 year old for flat-footedness in the future).

But if you’d like to treat it early, there are exercises your son can do to strengthen the muscles in the foot, and special footwear he can get. Although I think it’s quite hard to get orthtic footwear for such small kids (the place where I get my shoes only carries a very limited range of shoes).
