PE teacher attacks 8-year-old boy

Heard of female chinese swimming coach of a primary school who has been punishing kids physically :spank: such as hitting with swim board or hitting with whistle etc., but these actions seem to be condoned by the parents :shock: .

I feel that sometimes corporal punishment is necessary. The old saying \"Spare the rod, spoil the child\" is still applicable. Sadly, many parents are overly indulgent and many young children become uncontrollable brats. In the end, some parents have to send this type of children away to Boys'/Girls' Homes. The unfortunate ones had to send their dead teens into the other world due to street fights/staring incidents.

This \"PE teacher vs problem child\" incident should serve to wake up those indulgent parents.

For those parents who do not hv the experience of being at the breaking point, it would be very hard to understand why the reaction of the PE teacher and very easy to fault the PE teacher.

Just my 2cts worth.

For me i don't mind teachers punish my kid if got a relevant reason. But to pull hair or bang head of kids or other violence is unacceptable.

I only accept smack hands, stand a corner pull ears, do push up, copy the sentence \"I will not do this again\" 1000 times.

Am I the indulgent parent?

I believe in not sparing the rod too. However, I won't accept teachers administering any form of corporal punishment on my kids. I can accept 罚站 for my kids. That's about it.

I used to kanna corporal punishment such as getting pinched by my primary school teachers for no justifiable reason. They were simply in bad mood that day! So NO WAY, teachers should not be allowed to administer corporal punishment to kids for whatever reasons. Only parents can punish their own kids.

If parents have instilled the right values at home, there will be less disciplinary issues at schools & in the society.

When parents fail to carry out their duty, the society will hv to bear the consequences- sch bullies, gangs fights, etc.

But what if the kids behave better in school than at home and only afraid of teachers but not parents?

Not surprising. I have a friend who allows her kid's coach to hit her too.

sometimes is not because parents not discipline their kids, but the kids behave differently to different people.

Is like when you talk to parents and friend use different tones...and behave differently infront of them.

Sorry but I think the first lesson to teach the children is not to provoke the teacher with poor attitude or behaviour. Teachers are also human. If I have only one child and can feel like tearing my hair out on some days...I am sure the teachers have several bad hair days dealing with so many children when they test the limits. :slapshead:
