      i30:
In the briefing session given by HCI, there were over a thousand applicants. 225 boys were given confirmed offer, while 150 were in waiting list. Just to point out \"not all are geps\", my son's 5 friends (all from main stream) got confirmed offer.

Hi i30, are the 5 mainstream SMOPS plat, gold or silver? or sport talent? or by school result?

Hi MdmKS, a few got bronze, so they applied through DSA2 (academic), not eligible for DSA1.

They must have done exceptionally well acadamically.

RI has sent out confirmed letters dated 17 Aug. Received today. I think they really have the welfare of the kids at heart. Sending them out only after psle oral.

Heartiest congratulations to all who got in! :celebrate:

I heard that it is the request by the gep parents to ask to postpone the release of dsa result.

Luckystar, may I know why do the GEP parents want to do that? What does this got to do with GEP? I do not think a "famous" school like RI will just listen to some GEP parents’ suggestion and postpone the release date.

My son has gotten RI. They called us for a "ceremony" and presented us with a Rafflesian T-shirt and a cert. last Saturday. BTW it was only for those who applied under the sports domain.

Yes Sally, thanks he made it to both. He is on priority waitlist for HCI (which according to the principal is a guaranteed entry).

So, to share what I know for next year's parents, I believe if yr child's in GEP, he stands a good chance to be accepted. There're kids with medals not accepted by HCI/RI and kids without medals accepted by them. So looks like smops doesn't seem to carry too much weightage in acceptance. There're some gep kids who don't get offers from either of these 2 schools. So it's a good idea to apply for ip schools other than these 2.

:celebrate: to you too for yr son's acceptance in NUSH.

It's been a very emotional week for the kids and their parents as they wait anxiously for acceptance and rejection letters. Glad it's over and now they can focus on the prelims and move forward.
