I will be visiting Taipei from 4 to 7 Nov and have booked Meeky Yang's friend Mr Xu Wan Liu on 5 Nov (Meeky has been booked on 5 Nov and 6 Nov he has personal matters to attend to).


Anybody going Taipei around same timing and like to share the cost of driver (NT3000) for a day's trip to Northcoast ? I will be bringing my teenage girl and planning to go:
1) Yehliu Geopark
2) Jinguashi
* Gold Ecological Park incl Gold Museum, the Benshan 5th Tunnel Experience & Gold Panning Experience
* Golden Waterfalls
* YingYang Sea
* Nanya
3) Jiufen
4) Shifen Waterfall
5) Pingxi (release heavenly lantern)

Too bad, my family only leaving on 19 Nov :frustrated: can pm me Meeky's friend contact?

I booked Mr Lee, nice chap. He called to tell me weather turning cold, to prepare enough warm clothing for kids.


Caroline, did you book any airport transfer? What time is your flight? Who knows we might just bump into each other at the city.

I didn’t book any airport transfer. Most likely taking Kuo Kuang bus. Any comments?

The weather for Nov is 18 - 23 degrees. Air con temp. Just nice.

How much did you book TransAsia? I was told they have a buy 1 get 1 free promo. Maybe can consider this airline next time if the price is right.

How many of you traveling? If 4 pax, then can consider booking a cab, save the hassle of transferring to Mrt if your hotel is not near bus drop off point. For me, we have 3 kids, so we are hiring a driver.

I hope the weather will not be too cold as I have no wish to bring too many pcs of warm clothing. Going to do my laundry there

I am unable to book Meeky as he said he is fully booked!

I managed to contact another cabbie mentioned in another forum and he quoted TWT 3,500 for 8-9 hours. Seems a bit higher than the market rate? i tot it was TWT 3000.

Another question - did any cabbie asked for payment of deposit? Cos my cabbie/tour guide from Hualien asked for 30% deposit in advance…I tot it was quite unusual cos it is to an individual.

TransAsia’s promo of 1 for 1 is up till 31 Oct. I paid $1271 for 2 persons, incl taxes.

YMCA is at Taipei Main Station.
