Is it a must to write our PSLE index number in pen? I wrote in pencil for my English paper :(((

Lots of kids especially boys will not feel stress about exams and results. not at P6 age.

We should just let them be themselves and just push them when necessary.
No point adding extra stress on them as it’s not going to help.

Haha, good one. COs from Ri and HCI, as long as PSLE result able to get into Express Stream then it is ok.

My DS told me that some of his friends who have COs from RI, HCI, NUSH did during PSLE.

          1) One fall asleep during listending compo.
          2) One has so much time left during math paper2 after checking that he does not know what to do and counted that the \"Non Chinese\" name mentioned in the math papaer are only twice and \"Chinese\" names have listed 8 times.
          3) Another of his classmate counted that he wrote 689 words for this Eng Compo.

So they are very relax manz.... :imcool: :imcool: :imcool:
They must be rather bright to be able to complete the papers so far ahead of time that they have time to do other things.

My DS2 even more classic case.. got 60+ marks for English and 70+ marks for Math, Science & Chinese in the recent SA1 exam :faint: ! I will be jumping with joy, if he can get above 80 marks in the upcoming SA2 exam 🕺 ! If he gets above 90 marks, I will be crying.. tears of joy lah! 😢 😢

            I've gone through this for 6 years already. Went from 70-80+ from p1-p4 to 50-70+ from p5/p6. ;( 😓

You are not alone. Me too  ... Results aside now DH and I always believe DS will be successful in the future we just have to give them time to bloom. :celebrate:

Haha, thanks but no bingo  I am not a Chinese teacher but just a hands on mummy who is aware of current syllabus. Benefited from KSP for one PSLE and now wants to return something to KSP new PSLE parents/kids :grphug: Btw Ms Tay, my first post in KSP was for you. Hope your DS gets into RI/HCI! :rahrah:

The level head is not helping by telling him this type of expectation :slapshead: Which explains why many top scorers in prelims may not turn out as top scorers in PSLE. Too much expectations of themselves :frustrated: If you are the parent of a top scorer, don't be disappointed if your child is not performing well thus far in PSLE. And instead should encourage him/her. If his/her score can make it for dream school, that will do. If don't get in, move on and work harder in secondary school. You don't want a kid who turns out mentally ill or habour suicidal thoughts :xedfingers: Is it worth it? NO.[/quote]

Well said snow crystal ! I Totally agree what u hv said :hi5:
My ds told me that besides RI there is no other school he wishes to go to , I really Worry about him as his expectation is too high . If he really works
very hard but finally still can't achieve his goal ,will he still work hard or
give up ? I alway tell him that must prepare for the worst ,even if he can't get into any ip sch , move on and work harder in sec sch. Now He is a top scorer in Neighborhood sch but he might be the bottom in the top sch .
Now he seem like he understands what I have told him but if one day that really happens can he take it easy ? I hope my worry is unnecessary :nailbite:

Agree with you totally. Often letting go a little yields surprising results. We took a while to decide whether to bring DS to the Linkin Park concert last Sunday. I am glad we did. He was so thrilled being able to see the band perform up close and thanked us by working extra hard before and after the event without being pushed.

Is it true that the younger ones always give their parents more headaches & heart-aches??!! :frustrated: :slapshead:
