Lots of kids especially boys will not feel stress about exams and results. not at P6 age.

We should just let them be themselves and just push them when necessary.
No point adding extra stress on them as it's not going to help.
I know what you mean, my DS is just like that. He's still having his rest and play time with his sis, read newspaper leisurely, have tea and meal breaks, go find snacks........so relax that his dad can't quite \"tahan\". I think I've adopted the attitude that if he is relaxed during this PSLE, his score should reflect his \"true\" capability (not \"push\" beyond). Basing on this score to decide his sec sch should be less worrisome than \"pushing\" him beyond his capabilities for PSLE and then he cannot cope with the sec sch he got into later.

DS2 is very different from DS1, very playful & not serious in his studies! Is it true that the younger ones always give their parents more headaches & heart-aches??!! :frustrated: :slapshead:
              Firefly,
I hope and šŸ™ not..... :scared: šŸ˜“ . DS is also quite a handful in that he lack focus, not much self discipline and short attention span. So far, DD (who is younger) has proven to be more responsible than her brother. When it comes to her turn for PSLE, I'm not sure I'll have the stamina to last thru it if she's gonna give me more headaches & heartaches!!! :nailbite: :yikes: Really :xedfingers: that #2 will be more independent, self-motivated and can handle on her own!

Agree with you totally. Often letting go a little yields surprising results. We took a while to decide whether to bring DS to the Linkin Park concert last Sunday. I am glad we did. He was so thrilled being able to see the band perform up close and thanked us by working extra hard before and after the event without being pushed.

                    Wow that's great.
We planned to do that IF DS got a CO but he only has a wait list so we scapped the idea.
Anyway he says Linkin Park is so lame and old already šŸ˜† šŸ˜†

Just read this quote one of my friends posted on FB :

Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. A. Einstein

Let's all enjoy these precious gifts we have been given - our children - and not let one arbitrary exam make us judge them. We all have our place in life. What is most important is that we teach our children to do our very best in whatever we do - because then the universe will be in synch - and we would have played our part in that.
                        Hi vidhyalog,
:goodpost: Thanks for your insightful quote.
