Korea is extremely cold in December - I suggest you get your cold medication and flu jab before going. There are some great undergroung shopping place such as the Coex Centre in Kangnam - its so huge you can spend the whole day there and its underground which means its heated. Other plce is Dongdaemum - covered pasar malam.

For outdoor shopping activities - I suggest Namdaemun - like our Pasar Malam on a larger scale. Try their Pojang Macha (Tent Food) - its quite and expereince if you can take the cold.

There are day trips for ski - but you may be better off staying the night or two. For merely snow experience - you may want to try Everland Park - they have some snow tubing and its a theme park.

For accomodation with families - you may want to try the Fraser Suites in Seoul - 3 bedrooms for about S$400.

      Good luck

        Hi Insider

Saw your recommendation of a local guide in Korea. We are going this Dec and need to engage a driver to drive us to Yong Pyong and back to Seoul a few days later. Would he be willing to do that? What is the best way to get in touch with him? Email or call?

        TIA to your feedback.

Anybody knows rough rental rates for sleighs or sleds in Korean ski resorts? We’ll be heading to phoenix park hotel at mt sorak in december and probably can’t ski and rather slide down slopes with the kids.

                Hi,

anyone stay at everland resort before? going Seoul F&E first time, wonder is it better to stay at Everland resort or other ski resort? Thinking of letting children play sled … understand Everland also got sled and ski play…

                Any advise or recommendation?

did you leave yr luggage at the Hotel to stay 1 N at ski resort or bring it to the resort?

                Thank you

From what I read, Everland as a theme park is more fun for kids than a typical ski resort. Probably better staying at Everland.

How about Lotte World? If you are a winter sonata fan, make a trip to Nami Island and Chuncheon. Brave of you to venture F&E though despite the language handicap. Have fun!
