Thanks.
Hi ngbrdad,
RI is having a consultation session today till 5pm. You can go down and have a chat with them. Their PSLE supplementary intake (appeal phase) is open from yesterday till 22 dec. You can apply online. I was advised not to put RI as first choice (son aggregate = 254) cos their COP has been between 259-262. Better to apply to other schools first while waiting for appeal result which they will sent out before Christmas. Not putting RI as first choice will not reduce your appeal chances because the schools will not know your choices, info only privy to MOE (unless the schools you appeal to specifically ask for your choices).
Not sure about the appeal process for the other schools like NUSH. Sorry, cant help you there.
Probably cannot go down today as need to work.
So can just appeal/apply online ? -
ngbrdad:
Yes. Need to pay registration fee, attach PSLE result slip and any other additional awards or achievements from the last time you have submitted.
Thanks.hexagon:

Personally would advise staying in MGS. Good proven record. Think Cedar is overrated.Rocky25:
Hi there.
I'm a P6 student from MGS. I got my results today and I scored 252. I was wondering if I could get any advice on which school I should go. Should I go to Cedar Girl's for IP in Sec 1 leading to A levels or should I just stay in MGS (affiliated : 220) and wait for the IP in Sec 3 leading to IBDP? And any advice for the other 4 options?
Thanks ,
Rocky25 -
Edureach:
True, very very few students take it at A level. Most dropped along the way.On the subject of 3rd lang...
Take only if yr kids can manage it. Priority shld be on core subjects and HMT. By clearing HMT at O-level, a student saves approx 3-4 hrs a wk at yr5/jc1 which can be used for revision.

thank you thank you !
Ya, try to clear HMT at 'O' levels, if not still must go for 3-4 lessons per week in year 5.MandyMummy:

MOE policy from NJC's slides:
Mother Tongue
\t(Those who sat for HMT at āOā level and obtained a minimum grade of D7 for the subject can choose not to take MTL at H1 level in JC).
In other words, make sense to do HMT in Sec school lah rite?[/quote]Ya, definitely for IP schools because that's the only exam they take in year 4. But for O level schools, still need to take 7-9 subjects to get good L1R5 score for JC admission. So, must consider whether time needed to study HMT will compromise the other subjects or not.

Hi! I need some advice. My ds got 257+2. What are his chances of getting into HCI? I am undecided between NJC and RV as 2nd choice. Is it tough at HCI eg. long hours? Thanks.
-
I scored 257+3(HCL).
These are the schools I would like to enter(Not in any order):NJC, DHS, Cedar and River Valley. Could anyone from NJC, DHS or River Valley give me some information on the special programmes there? Thanks! :thankyou: I'm in a total dilemma over which school to go to. :?:
