      Dharma:

Thanks for the clarification, atutor2001. I made my comments with reference to your statement ...\"Their T-scores are in the range of 270 to 272 only.\"
Thanks for highlighting the \"source\" of the misunderstanding. The word \"only\" was intended to highlight that despite getting 4 A*, which to me is already very high (above 91), the marks will translate to \"only\" a T-score of 270. (Vikaesh was making a T-score estimate of 283 - which means the parameters used for the estimation are not accurate). However, probably most people have read my statement as to mean \"the T-score is only 270\".

Will be more careful with my words in future postings.

Hi chengsmummy, are there 3 or 4 GEP/high scorer classes? I thought there were 4. Thanks.

        Hi turquoise,

There should be at least 4 such classes. These classes consist of GEP/high scorers in PSLE/those who got in thru DSA (with exception of Sports DSA). In Sec 1, the girls are allocated based on MEP/SAP/MT(Tamil & Malay). Those doing MEP/SAP grouped together in 1 classes and similarly for MT.

Thanks Dharma. Just to clarify, by SAP do you mean girls from SAP schools are grouped together, or those who did HCL in P6, or those who are doing HCL in S1? Thanks.

Add to that, another 49% of student will have T-score from 266 to 270. So in total, for RI, 99% of students has T-Score range from 263 to 270

In RGS sec1 this year, there are total 13 classes, 3 out of this 13 classes are consists of high scorers and GEP pupils. I think the percentage of students have 270 above is much higher than 1%. My dd got all A* for her last year's PSLE, her T-score is slightly below 270.

Just curious. If you don't mind me asking, chengsmummy, is your dd in 1 of the 3 top classes? :D[/quote]
She is not in th top 4 classes. Sorry I counted wrongly, the last 4 classes are the top classes.

                Hi Dharma,

Just wondering about the Sec 1 GEP classes. Are the GEP girls who take MEP/SAP/MT also put in separate GEP classes or are they ranked/placed in classes according to their PSLE scores, which is what I've heard. Thank you! ๐Ÿ˜„

Any comments on ACSI IB programme? Noone interested in ACSI?

BTW, what are the ways to avoid the $$$ fee of independent schools?

                      Hi red rose,

RGS has done away with special classes just for GEPers some 1 to 2 years ago. For ddโ€™s year, the GEP pupils, mainstream high scorers in PSLE and those who got in thru DSA are allocated to the last 5 classes. The rest of the girls are allocated to the 1st eight classes. There are 2 classes that have girls doing MEP/SAP (102 and 112) but with other girls. Those doing Tamil and Malay are grouped together in 2 or 3 classes with the other girls. The allocation is done in such a way to ease timetabling. I donโ€™t think that girls are ranked in classes according to their PSLE scores.

I think if you get 265 and above, there is a scholar ship to pay $200+ a month. So for school fee of $350, you can save $200. Another way is to take up Malay as the 3rd language. $1000 incentive will be given for this. With these two, your school fee will be reduced to minimum. ๐Ÿ˜„
