Appeal Secondary One Posting

Thanks jtoh. Then do you know by when will we be able to know the result because we have to buy the books and uniforms tomorrow morning right?
You have to report to the school you were posted to tomorrow, regardless of whether you have appealed to another school. You report at posted school first, then wait for appeals results. If that comes through, you then withdraw from the first school and register at the second. -

This is the info for CHIJ STC. If you need more info on the school itself, you can click on the school's website link and find out more under their website or call them up to check if the info you need is not stated. http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/SIS_index.asp

I was told that we should inform the school we are reporting to that we are appealing to another school then we need not buy school books and school shoes.
But my concern is wont the kid be very odd to report to the school on 3 jan wearing its primary school uniform ? Will he feel outcast ? The school I talked to said it is quite common so there is nothing to be alarmed, but I’m still a bit worried. Can parents who has done this be able to advise what’s it like and whether the child will feel outcast, or it is a common sight and hence nothing special. -

Usually sch will inform you appeal results (if successful) before early Jan, but I also know of cases which inform after that. You should not buy books tomorrow (unless you are prepared to junk them if you get into the other sch). Delay purchase till end Dec.

Appeal carries uncertainty, so you and your kid must be prepared to face this uncertainty, and the final outcome (be it happy or sad). -

It depends on the school and your kids' results. Some schools will let you know on the day of appeal itself if your t-score is very good and above their COP. If your t-score is below the COP, then notification can be within days of appeal or even up to the first few days of January.

:thankyou:[/quote]Of the 3 schools you have listed, SMSS is more preferable as it is a band 4 sch with more stars under the academic value-add and other awards. KSS is also a band 4 sch, with fewer of such award. CHIJ STC is a band 9 sch and its award is even lesser.
Hope this helps you with your decision. -

Appeal carries this uncertainty, and parents and kid will have the dilemma of this.I was told that we should inform the school we are reporting to that we are appealing to another school then we need not buy school books and school shoes.
But my concern is wont the kid be very odd to report to the school on 3 jan wearing its primary school uniform ? Will he feel outcast ? The school I talked to said it is quite common so there is nothing to be alarmed, but I'm still a bit worried. I think most schs will inform you of the appeal succes by end Dec, with some cases overflowing to Jan. Personally, I will not recommend to go to reporting sch in pri sch uniform in Jan. Yes, if you do not wish to buy the uniforms / textbooks by tomorrow, you can still delay till end Dec. But there has to be some closure for the kid to progress next yr and settle down to learning. By end Dec, if you do not hear from the appeal sch, you should go ahead and acquire the uniforms and textbooks for your kid to start his sch. This is just my personal opinion.
