Received call from HOD and just transferred my son from neighbour Shuqun. He is P3 next year. Looking forward to it.

Kids have received the CCA list being offered to them in this year in P3. May I know which CCAs are preferred in order to get in direct admissions to Secondary schools?

              Hello Shu,
Last year, I did not think about CCAs that can lead to direct admissions to Sec. school. I was busy making sure that DS had a list of 1st choice - 4th choice in case he cannot get into his choice of CCAs. Some needed \"auditions\" to get in. So be prepared. You may want to contact Ms Kavitha to ask her. Good luck.

                Hello Rulang parents,

How was your children’s 1st day back at school? DS complained the school bus home is overcrowded. I’m wondering if i should enquire with the driver or the school. Price went up by $5 too.

                  Silver Horse,

thanks, I tried to contact Ms Kavitha but she told me to choose according to kids choice as well though I still think that my DD can do good in many CCAs so which one to put first? In case one os preferred over another to get into secondary why cant I just put the one at choice 1?

For the first day of school, it was very annoying to get up before 6 am to send her to school but hope to get used to it. Some more her teacher told her not to sleep in afternnoon even if 'MOM' say sleep. also dont sleep so can get used to the CCA days when they will come back by 5 pm :(.

                    Hi,
My ds chose skipping last yr. Can he change a CCA in P4?
I’m also interested to know which CCA will have extra ‘points’
                    Pls advise…Thanks

My thinking is to just let the kids choose the CCA they like cos it's not as easy as it seems to use CCA as a DSA tool. 1st, whether which CCA can be used as DSA depends on the Sec Sch of ur choice, different Schs hv different niche. 2ndly, for DSA into reputable Sch, ur achievement in CCA must be stellar eg. Win national championship etc. even then there's no guarantee that it will be successful.

My view is that in Sch the kids can't choose to study the subjects they like, they can't choose the teachers n classmates, the only thing they can choose in Sch (other than food) is CCA. 🙂 so why not let them choose and not worry abt DSA.
