      Dear mummies

May i ask should there be a concern over child’s weight. My sil’s son is 17 years old and weighs only 29kg for a height of 1.59m. Sil is not bother at all. She said as long as they are healthy, nothing to worry about. She always say it is genes as she is petite herself.

Another sil has a daughter of 6 years old that is 95cm and weighs 13kg. Sil is also not concern.

      What do you think?

        Boy - 17yrs, 1.59m and ONLY 29kgs!!!!! :yikes:

My son 15yrs, 1.68m and 40kgs and already VERY thin. Really very thin, bone very small and without any flesh.

I am concern and doing all I can to help him gain some weight. Now, every morning I give him 2 soft boil eggs and some chinese herbs to boost his appetite to eat more and hope he will gain some weight. I also bought tian qi and ginseng capsule from yu ren shen to boost his bone and height.

I hope all these can help him.

            I'm 12 years and 10 months old. 176cm and 64kg.

Don't worry. I used to be skinny as heck when I was Primary One. Back then, I was only 19kg and 137cm.

It's actually quite weird. Maybe my metabolism rate dropped over time and I become fat? 😂

All your child needs is 3 meals a day. Nothing more nothing less 🙂

                24hr-mum:
i have tried royal jelly, kiddy pharmaton orange syrup, herb, chinese medicine, pedisure but my boy still eats very little. otherwise he is healthy.

any proven ways to improve appetite?
You can perhaps make some sour-sweet kind of drinks to appetise your child's taste buds.

Maybe mix honey and lemon into warm water and let your DS drink?

Of course, spicy-sour soup like Tom Yum can also appetise taste buds but, being small children, they wouldnt like spicy-sour food.

                    Hi bubbleberry

It takes a while for him to purge the parasites (if any). I intend to give it to my boy too. He’s so skinny that bullies in school tend to pick on him.

If you find any parasites like tapeworms in your boy's body. I strongly advise you to visit a doctor so he can extract the tapeworm out

If I'm not wrong they use a pair of pliers to reach down into the throat and pull out the tapeworm.

Sometimes tapeworms, if they are long enough, a part of them might pop out from the butthole. One of my relatives once had tapeworms and the tapeworm popped out of the butt.

Got sent to hospital and then the tapeworm got pulled out from the anus.

My mom said it, well, whether or not it was real or just a joke, it made me laugh XD

                        Hi, Ichigokun

that sounds scary to extract the worm from the throat.somemore my kid is very freaky about such things.
anything how long after taking medicine will we be able to see the worm… the past days, I have been observing his stools but nothing come out of it, and also his butt…

as for appetite wise, he still eat as per normal… does not tht mean he does not have tapeworm…
