If your child has been coughing non-stop for few months despite taking all kinds of medicines, will you believe it if someone would to tell you that it can be cured in 3 days?!

My 5 years old boy was down with persistent cough for almost 3 months, seen PD few times and was given long list of medicines including antibiotics, singulair, fluimucil, cophadyl, ventolin etc, but nothing seemed to work well as his condition continued to worsen. I got so worried that he might be “overdosed” and would suffer the side effects, as the PD kept giving more and more medicines each time, so I started to research on the Internet for alternative solution.

I chanced upon the Facebook page of a TCM clinic which mentions they have an external therapy for cough specially for children, so we rushed down immediately. The lady doctor diagnosed my son and said that there’s whizzing sound in his lung but she told me not to worry as he will be okay in 3 days by doing the Bio-Light cough massage therapy consecutively. She even advised me to stop his western medicines. I found it hard to believe! But anyway, we proceeded with the treatment as the doctor sounded very confident.

One the first night, my son continued to cough and threw out lots of phlegm, but the next morning, his cough was very much reduced, and from 2nd night onward I hardly heard him cough except occasionally 1 to 2 sound at times, and then his cough gradually faded off after the 3 days of treatment.

I think the Bio-Light cough treatment was rather amazing, and the most wonderful part of it is… no medicine to take at all!!

        Hi,
Pls share with me the name & the TCM address

        thanks in advance

          Hi Schen & happyday2,

Sorry for the late reply, coz I was away for a short trip.

The clinic we went to was Herbal-Basic located at Havelock Road, you can find them on Facebook or call them at 6376 2345.

For the Bio-Light Cough Massage Therapy, you need to do it consecutively for 3 to 5 days depending on your child’s condition. My boy did it for 3 days and he recovered well, I think we paid $40 + per visit.

If your objective is to do away with oral medication, be it Western or TCM, this could be a good alternative!

I wish your child recovers soon.

Thanks for sharing! My dd has been coughing for 3 mths too. Like your child, she was given a long list of antibiotics, medicine, etc but nothing seemed to work. Like you, each visit to the GP, he prescribed even more medicine and like you, I also worried about side effects of the medicine.

Should have checked your post earlier - tomorrow, my dd has an appointment with NUH pediatrician. Was referred to by the GP. If it doesn't help, I'll try Bio-LIght. WIll ask for more details if I need them...

            thanks!

                Hello,

It’s entirely my fault that I hadn’t bought this earlier for my child, but she’d been admitted into KKH for bronchitis recently and now I’m facing some issues getting a more comprehensive coverage for medishield. So far I’ve only check with one company, so I’d like to seek some recommendations here on which insurance company would be ‘less harsh’…

Hi parents, another effective (for me & family) is taking propolis (pls google if you dont know what it is). It comes in drops or capsule. It’s bitter (drops) but can drop into juice or something. I’ve recommended to many people and it works for them. It is good for boosting immunity, cough and flu.

I let my dds take before exams, or during flu season. It is very good for cough and sore throat. At first (first few times) they complain bitter and i gave them a sweet after taking as they refuse to drop into juice. Subsequently, they take it straight without having to take a sweet.

for sore throat or cough, drops are more effective as the liquid runs through the throat. It is available in Nature’s farm / GNC. Products are usually from Aus/NZ. I dont have a particular brand. Btw, if you buy from Aus/NZ, it will cost you half the price.

my boy also quite prone to cough ans usually comes with alot of phlegm which he can’t get rid…

currently i put him on ketotifen (not sure spell correctly or not). it’s a kind of lungs tonic from the GP. he start off with 2 times a day and now is once every morning only.

started since he’s 1 years old until now 27mths le…so far he only fell sick once this year…got the virus from his dad. the tonic also increase his appitide n he’s eating more then a normal kid which is helpful for fussy kidos.

The virus going round this time has hit many hard.

I visited the GP with kids 5x since last week.
The phlegm and mucus was stuck and i simply could dislodge it :stupid: refused to take antibiotics bcos it makes me tired.
Finally surrendered...saw GP yesterday. The irritating phlegm and mucus came out after I took first antibiotic capsule !!! It's been a while since I had been this sick. Really jialat. This afternoon, I took the medicine and literally knocked out 30 min later.
