Travel: Japan - General

I haven’t been to Japan yet, but I will be traveling there around April with my baby and hubby. That is the only time that we can travel as a family…

Are you going to Disneyland or Disneysea? How old are your kids?Hi parents,
For those who have already been to Tokyo Disney, may I know what are the 'Must go' attractions or rides? We are going next week with kids and parents. If there is a 'Must go' or 'Must try' list of rides, we can plan so that we don't miss them.
Btw, we are with tour package which has 1 day @ disney.
Thanks! -
Haha! thanks... have sent you a pm on the camera info...

We are going to Disneyland. Actually a big group of us with a few families
Are you going to Disneyland or Disneysea? How old are your kids?
Age of the kids range from 5 - 14 yrs old.

One thing i really liked (and so do the rest of my family)… are the parades, the shows (One Man’s Dream II) etc etc…
The rides are pretty good too… good value… -
My preschool boy's favourite is Gadget's Go Coaster in Toontown & Grand Circuit Raceway in Tommorrowland. Jungle cruise is also pretty enjoyable especially the guide's animated tour (you can feel the excitement without understanding a word he says ;-p). For teenagers they'll enjoy those rides more - think they will prefer DisneySea more than Disneyland unless they are the goo-ga-ga disney characters type. Enjoy!
& hey mckenzy, share your camera info with me too. I loaded mine onto blog too but somehow the clarity after loading looks different than shown on the camera or computer  -

With tour, you may have less than 1 day there. Ideally is to arrive there before the park open, and stay until it closes. But for holiday season like Christmas, it is not possible to cover all interesting attractions even if you have one full day, let alone with tour, so you have to be selective.Hi parents,

Use the Fastpass wisely. But if you arrive like after 1 or 2 hours after park opens, then you lose out on the best time to get the Fastpass.
Popular attractions are usually those with fastpass which include Monster Inc, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Pooh ride, etc. Young kids will like Dumbo, tea cup, parades, shows, etc. -
With such a wide age-range... i think best to split the kids up... between my 6yr old girl and my 11yr old boy... we eventually (with some protest) split up and took different rides... after about 2-3 hours we got back together for a scheduled fastpass at Astro blasters (easily one of the best rides)...
The Jungle Cruise was hilarious... of course i didn't understand a word either... Ummm.... if possible maybe skip the paddle boat circuit... but if you're in for laughs with the chief paddler... then go for it...
radiantmum, we brought 3 cameras! okay lah... unless you're loaded then you can bring one superduper lens to shoot everything... i used a Canon 350D with a 135mm/f2 fixed focal lens. The shots with nice blurry backgrounds are mostly shot with this setup. My son used a Lumix G1 with 14-45mm. His duties were to shoot scenery(parks + buildings), food (coz the lens can do close up), random street shots and of course most importantly, to catch the family photos... the last camera is a digital compact type, a pretty old trusty Lumix LZ2... this was our backup.
share your blog leh...radiantmum:

Thanks for all the info.
We may split up as mckenzy suggested as it is probably better. Hopefully the waiting time for each ride is not too long on that day so that my kids can enjoy few more rides.
Feeling excited. haha
How about Universal Studios? Any suggestions?
