I'm a reporter from Singapore's Child magazine. Currently pursuing an article about everything parents need to know about DSA, from IP vs IB to what do schools ask in interview. Anyone interested in sharing your experience of going through DSA with me? PM me if you can help me by sharing; this will help other parents who want to help their child enter the school of their dreams!

CL (not HCL) is included in the average score. Not all GE students take HCL.
Good luck! -
Does anyone know if any school offers dsa via weiqi? TIA
HCI - I heard the school offers one student via weiqi each year. The school looks at academic results too. Once, the school made an offer to the second best weiqi player among those who applied because the best player's academic results were not good enough.
However, when looking at HCI dsa site, they do not offer a domain for dsa via weiqi. Do you have more information on this? Thank you!
Think they still have to apply via phrase 2 and school will identify his profile thru his application. -
Hi!
I’m new to this DSA procedure. Would like to asked some questions. In case the questions had been asked previously, I apologized.
1) There are 2 kind of DSA? 1 via IP route (6 yrs) and normal O levels (4 yrs) ??
2) This IP route if it’s not suitable for the child (after he entered) and he dropped out for example year 3, what will happen?
3) How different is this IP route via the O level route?
4) Any1 have any idea, what’s the percentage of accepted students via DSA (not GEP students) in HCI or RI?
5) Is there anyway to gauge (on our part) the chance of our kid getting into HCI, ACS (I), RI or NUSH?
6) Is there anywhere (beside school’s own website) to check which school is strong in which domain? eg: HCI,RI,NUSH,ACS(I),CHS
7) If the child had chosen & accepted via example Maths domain. What does it really mean? Mainly learn everything about maths in sec school?
Sorry for asking so many questions. Just some things I can’t figure out. Thank you for your help! -

Many schools offer DSA. Some are pure IP schools, some are pure O level schools, some offer both IP and O.
2) This IP route if it's not suitable for the child (after he entered) and he dropped out for example year 3, what will happen?
Depends on the school he's in and whether that school offers an O level alternative to students who do not make it in the IP route.
3) How different is this IP route via the O level route?
Not all IP schools offer an O level alternative. And even among the ones that do, I'm not sure that they're considered IP students after moving into the O level route. That is, they will compete with other students using their O level results to progress on to the JC of their choice.
4) Any1 have any idea, what's the percentage of accepted students via DSA (not GEP students) in HCI or RI?
5) Is there anyway to gauge (on our part) the chance of our kid getting into HCI, ACS (I), RI or NUSH?

Usually the domains indicated in the school's DSA website gives a good indication of the school's strength. Alternatively, browse this forum. There's a lot of info given over the years. But might take a long time to browse.
7) If the child had chosen & accepted via example Maths domain. What does it really mean? Mainly learn everything about maths in sec school?
The student would be expected to represent the school in Math-related competitions and take part in Math training.
Sorry for asking so many questions. Just some things I can't figure out. Thank you for your help! -
