RE: Look Good Feel Good Club
Hi,
I thought I try creating this club, so that we can share our recipe toward leading a better life. There have been so much stress in our society that we forget to look good or even pamper ourselves. What have you done to make yourselve look good or feel good? -
RE: Would you exchange your time to work for achieve your dreams
I find that there are a lot of ppl out there trying to make ends meets. I used to took up part time jobs during the weekend, to earn the extra cash. But it took up a lot of my family time. I go ahead to work because I think is worth it, if I can give them a better life.
We all live in constraint or within our budget, but I dream that if I can aim higher. Why not? Life is full of constraint, when was the last time we dream big? We used to dream when we are young, but now we are control by our financial and spend within our means.
If I have the chance to make a decision to create a better life for myself and my family, I will do it. How about you? -
RE: Would you exchange your time to work for achieve your dreams
Hi,
I was wondering if there is anyone out there willing to do anything to provide your family to have a better lifestyle? like looking for extra income?
Does this thoughts came to you that, where we are not able to retire in the future since there are so many things that were going up and our pay is not. Will we survive with our current income? and by 10 yrs down the road, we will not be getting the pay we are getting today? Not to say our health could be down as we get older. -
RE: Handling Timid child
Hi all,
Thanks for all the sharing. Now he is 5yrs old, manage to send him for swimming lesson. intially he refused to go into the water, but his coach was very patience with him. Now he enjoy his lesson and looking forward to it.
Recently I have a thought of sending him to Phonicsread at AMK. Last year, we bring him to KKH for assessment, and was told to have speech delay and suspected sign of autism. After a year of therapy, there is sign of improvement. I wanted to send to Phonicsread, but was very worry that he will be scare to enter the class. Last time, i tried sending him to a trial lesson, less than 10 mins, the teacher send him out, as he was crying non-stop, they do not know what to do and I can’t coax him to go back to the lesson. Whenever we walk pass the school, he will look scare. I was in a delimma whether to send him to Phonicsread. His grandparents keep saying nevermind, and say that he will learn when he get older. And keep saying is genetic that he is like his father, and will out grow it eventually. I feel helpless and depress whenever they say that. -

RE: Would you encourage your child to do social work?
Hi, is good to see that there are many ppl like you who care for the low income family.
Personally I am a youth volunteer at my CC, for my past experience I been doing volunteering work for the elderly around my CC estate monthly. I did organise some outing before, for the low income family from AWWA.
Currently MCYS have CDAC and CFAC which is running such program, you may wish to collaborate with them.
CDAC Tuition Programmes
Aims to organise quality and affordable tuition classes for students from low-income families who are not performing well in school.
Please contact CDAC Secretariat for the application form or print it from http://www.cdac.org.sg.
Centre-based Financial Assistance Scheme for Child Care (CFAC)
CFAC helps low-income families to pay for their children's child care fees. This is to support mothers who go out to work, while ensuring the children's developmental needs are met. CFAC provides a child care fee subsidy every month. -
